This weekend

My thread earlier this week got me thinking about how I spend the weekend - do I make the most of it and how does it compare to others (AM I MISSING OUT!!!??? :rotfl:)

So, what are you up to this weekend? What plans do you have?

Our weekend was going to be going to the Planetarium at Greenwich on Saturday and having my mum for the day on Sunday (she's in a care home and comes here every Sunday for the day) except my 6 year old has the Pox (Chicken, not Small) so we will be spending every day for the next week with a big black X for unclean on the front door and not going out anywhere where there may be people. It's going to be FUN!

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • Other than getting my eyelashes done on Saturday absolutely nothing!

I'm going to Dubai in May so I'm resisting the temptation to go spending at the weekends. Obviously eyelashes are essential therefore I don't feel guilty. That's what I tell my OH anyway

Take our 9 yo daughter to her swimming lesson Sat am. The freezer needs filling with meat from the market. Decide whether we are going to press ahead with our idea of having a new bedroom carpet fitted whilst DS is on a school trip and if so go order it. We've been invited to friends for meal and drinks Sat evening, can't see the nearly teen wanting to come, but would take DD.

    No plans for Sunday.

Walking the dogs, maybe doing some baking, and cooking.

Planning on lifting our hall carpet and taking it to the dump. Can't afford to replace the carpet, but it needs to go anyway.

Maybe put a washing on at some point, watch a movie, read more of my book......

Pretty boring really, but it will do for me :)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Our usual weekend: go see the in-laws on the weekend and come back with lots of yummy food, then spend sunday in bed watching movies/lazing around/eating food given by in-laws
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

It varies from week to week. This weekend at the moment it looks like:
Bit of a lie in Sat and then errands/housework in the morning
Am self-employed so need to do some work Sat afternoon
Sat evening think we have a friend coming round so few drinks, games etc.

Sunday - might be going cinema in the morning, not confirmed yet
Meeting a friend for coffee and a catch up around lunch time
Bit more work Sunday late afternoon
Sunday evening - spend some time with OH, haven't decided what we're doing yet.

It varies a lot because of my work. Some weekends I might have to work most of it, if I don't have much on then we might go out for the day.
  • DH works sat so just me and kids, normally we go swimming in morning then lunch at home and play in or out in afternoon. Sundays are then dependent on how tired DH is.

This weekend got friends round sat afternoon so kids and i will bake in morning. then my dad round for dinner/evening. Sunday will then be a family swim, sunday lunch and then weather dependent out on bikes or if it has snowed possibly slegdes :)

Sat - Trip to the cinema to see Wreck it Ralph with DH and the children followed by a meal out somewhere family friendly (probably Frankie and Benny's or Pizza Hut etc)

Sun - Lazy day around the house. Probably will cook a roast dinner, then we'll probably sit in front of the fire playing board games etc. Maybe a nice walk if its a clear, crisp day.
