    Here's a link to a recipie

    http://www.xmission.com/~dderhak/recipe/churros.htm

They're like a donut but tastier, you don't need to deep fry them as such an inch of oil is plenty. Alternatively (if this is really stupid please excuse me I don't have kids) the school must have a deep fat fryer?

The school are much braver than I am, they can fry as much as they like

Thanks so much for all your help. This is exactly what I wanted.

I have heard of chilli being in choco mouse so will look for a recipe. I think they could manage the churros but I think I would have to do at home 1st and let them watch .

    Hello OSers :hello:

Looked in the index but couldn't find much in the way of mexican recipes.

I'm just putting the final tweeks to my online grocery order/meal plan.

I have my statutory two packs of mince and fancy doing something mexican (but healthy).

I don't really know what any of the dishes are called! I have some avocados at home too. I just looked at tacos (£1.18 for 12). Do these keep well or would they need to be used once open? Are they deep fried? Would I just fill them with hot chilli mix and serve or do they need to be baked?

What do you call the one which is tortillas baked in sauce?

    Any other yummy suggestions appreciated.

My lot like a themed night on a weekend. so this will be for mexican night so any other nibbley accompniments or any other yummy suggestions appreciated.

Whatever I decide I will be making meat and veggie versions so all welcome.

    x cheers x

Fajitas are a good quick meal - you'll need some turkey steaks (quite thin, and cheaper than chicken!), tortilla wraps (usually around £1 for 8), veg such as peppers, aubergines, tomatoes, and things that will hold their shape when lightly fried, a lemon, and either a pack of spice mix made for fajitas, or if you have them in the cupboard, chilli powder, paprika, and salsa spices.

    They way I make them:

Slice the turkey into thin strips, as well as the vegetables. Juice the lemon, and use this along with a little worcester sauce or equivalent for veggies to cook the turkey and veg until the veg i slightly soft. You made need more than 1 lemon depending on the number of people eating - I use one for evey 2 people. When the meat and veg are cooked, add your spices making sure everything is evenly coated. Cook for 1 further minute on a medium heat, then serve piping hot in a bowl so everyone can dig in and fill their own wrap :)

You can heat the wraps under the grill, alhough I know some people like the cold wrap / hot filling mix! It's good with a side of salsa, guacamole or a creamy dip. Also good with potato wedges

minced beef (or chicken turky pork etc) fried with onions and bell pepper, add baked beans and ground chilli, turmeric, etc (what ever you want really to make it spicey and hot). add to tacos and then grate cheese over the top, followed by lettuce and salsa
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

    I think it's Quesadillas.

Theyre basically fajitas, covered in cheese and then baked..... well thats how I make mine lol

    Burritos are good
Guacamole/salsa as aforementionned are good accompaniments. Refried beans too.

Quesadillas are the ones which are effectively a cheese sandwich made with tortillas and chilli, these are lovely and cheap & cheerful forgot about these DROOOL

The baked ones are Enchiladas. I make my sauce for the inside with passata, chilli, garlic salt, cocoa and cinamon)

Thes ones that are deep fried (OMG GORGOUS!) are chimichangas, but ive never been able to master these at home, good jjob too Id be as big as my house!!!!
