Hi ya , its ok if the person has the same surname both myself and other family members cashed in some vouchers and when they came they just had the family name on no miss or Mrs, Mrs etc..hope this helps

That is a very useful post - many thanks!

(I have multiple clubcard accounts and this helps me enormously as didn't want to consolidate them all for this purpose)

What about if I were 'Smith' and my fiance 'Jones' and we had family members on his and my side giving vouchers? Could we use all Smith and Jones vouchers for one booking as the booking would be for those 2 names?

hi ya ..sorry forgot to mention we have the same surname ,but the tokens/vouchers dont come with the whole name printed on eg.Mr Edward Tesco ..the Booking once made through the holiday agents can only be in one name .. your side or your fiance's, what you could do is get key fobs from tesco for your family and when they spend it would go onto your account, :T hope this helps
Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.
  • When you are using any deals, you ahve to have the vouchers in your hand, you phone to book the holiday and tell them how much moneys worth of vouchers you have. They take a c/card deposit from you there and then. You then have to get those vouchers to the holiday company within 3 days (we did special D) and they credit it against the holiday.

If your vouchers cover the cost of the holiday, they will credit your card when tey receive the vouchers. If there is still a balance to pay, you will get billed 10 weeks beforehand as you would with any holiday booking.

You just lose the internet discount/quidco etc element. We have had two holidays partially paying by deals (Florida, St Lucia) and several holidys to France where the deals have paid for it all.... no probs!

I''d look around first as i booked a hol to florida last month for next april with first choice, cost 2900 for 2 adults 2kids, villa, car, travel insurance. Virgins price was well over 3500. You'd save more booking elsewhere and use your deals for other things, or i think you can sell the vouchers on ebay for near their worth, put that towards spends. hope that helps, but deff take a look at first choice, they are online and its really simple to get a full cost everything inc.

Tesco vouchers usually sell for double on Ebay
e.g £100 vouchers worth £400 in deals would sell for roughly £200 :)

Sorry to hijack - but my fiance and I were thinking of using Virgin for a wedding holiday as we want to get married in Vegas and so we are saving our Clubcard vouchers towards this.
However we wondered can we use clubcard vouchers issued to friends and family too? As we have friends and family who are willing to give their vouchers towards the wedding, but I am unsure as to wether we would be allowed to do this?

Hi we have used clubcard vouchers given to us by family members with the same surname, as the clubcard deals do not have a first name or initial and have never had any problems. I don't know if it would work for different surnames though.

Hi, Hoping someone may be able to help. I got a quote from Virgin for a flordia holiday stating I would be paying with Tesco deals vouchers. I was given a price and I asked what portion of this total can be paid with the vouchers, I was told all of it. I was surprised as I had read that you could not pay for upgrades or supplements with them. Two days later I called again to check the price and asked the same question about using the vouchers. They said the same, I then ordered the vouchers to the required value (we have been saving for 2 years so I had enough for all but £300 of the holiday) I recieved the vouchers called virgin booked the holiday I stated again the value of the vouchers I had and had to read off the serial nos. Today I have recieved a letter from virgin returning £165 worth of vouchers stating I cannot pay for supplements with them. So now I have £165 of virgin vouchers I cannot use. I called Virgin today and they just referred me back to the term and conditions of the vouchers and advised I book another holiday with them to use the remaining vouchers!!! So has anyone else experienced this as I am not sure what to do now:confused:

I had a very similar thing happen to me when I booked our holiday for December of thi year. I had enough and more to pay for the entire value of the holiday, but had read about some of the exceptions.

I must have rung Virgin 4 or 5 times to get quotes and to clarify what I could use vouchers on. I then converted the right amount of Tescos vouchers, booked the holiday, only to be told that I couldnt use vouchers on many of the things I had been told I could.

THe bottom line seems to be that you can use vouchers to pay for the adult and child holiday price listed in the brochure-everything else has to be paid for in cash, eg car insurance, fuel supplements, weekend supplements etc etc.

So I had about two hundred punds extra converted. I had quite a debate with Virgin about it at the time, but they would nt budge-there was very obviously nothing they were going to do about it. So in the end, I had to send them back to Tescos who converted them back into points and put them on my card.

Its a shame that Vrgin dont seem to have learnt anything over the last six months

Thank you Verrucasalt. A find it amaizing that Virgin conduct themselves in this way, I have usually found them to be professional to deal with so i was very surprised with their stance. We booked a Cosmos holiday this year and they accepted vouchers for the full balance without question. I will write to Virgin to complainanyway, but I will try to get the points back from Tesco.
Thanks again it is good to know that the points are not wasted.
