A school friend of mine went to work in Canada after leaving Uni. He chanced upon another English bloke and they got chatting. English bloke 1 - from the Welsh Marches. English man 2 - from Blackpool, went to Uni in Notts.

Bloke 1 said "I only know 1 person who went to Uni in Notts - she's called Frith". Bloke 2 and I were on the same course and in the same tutor group!

And my sister came home from choir practice when she was 10 or so, very excited because there was a boy who shared her birthday. Something else she said made Mum ask a couple more questions, and she realised this lad's mum had been in the next bed to her in hospital.

That reminds me of when I was making a hospital appointment a few months ago and the receptionist's son was born on the same day as me (same year and date). Different hospitals though.

Went on holiday in Bulgaria with my family it was a weeks touring holiday in a small mini bus with 8 people. Met a lovely couple husband and wife both from Denmark like we all were.

Fast forward 1 year and I am about to leave my job as a care assistant in England (having moved there after the holiday) guess who my replacement was the lady from the bus in Bulgaria.

Second one, when I met my husband he lived in his cousin house renting it, he moved out and his auntie bought it. Fast forward two years I start a new job, my boss lives next door and had done for years. Never met her when I lived there.

In WWII my Great-Grandfather was captain of a merchant navy ship doing the North Atlantic run. He got torpedoed and luckily for him his distress signal was answered by a Royal Navy destroyer....which turned out to be captained by his son.

    I have three:

I care for 6 children. Two share a birthday, and a third shares a birthday with my DD.

We moved to UK 10 years ago. When registering at the GP it turned out the receptionist lived in the same house we had just rented. I later met someone else who had also lived there, but can't recall who they are now.

Finally, a few years ago someone knocked on my door, and we recognised we have the same accents, so got chatting. Turns out they lived in South Africa, and had rented the house of a family, the son of which I was in the same class as.
  • I was at a party a few years back and was a bit drunk talking to a girl I'd never met before. She said her name was Christie and I instantly asked "Has your Granddad only got one arm." I had no idea why I said it but she said Yes! Was completely freaked out so mentioned it to my Mum. Turns out that when I was 4 we went on a caravan holiday somewhere 200 miles away, and I had made friends with a little girl called Christies (and her Granddad had one arm).

I had never remembered this until that point but talking to this girl must have triggered something. Even stranger is that they had lived 150 miles away from the holiday spot in the opposite direction, so the chances of seeing her again were tiny. She had been visiting a friend fro Uni when I met her at the party.

My mum had a great one. My Mum bought an apartment in Turkey a few years back and when she went out the first time to stay there she bumped into her next door neighbours from home who also had an apartment in the same building. Very very strange ... unless of course the neighbours has been looking at her mail.

I like the fact that my middle name and Surname are my OH's first name and middle name. Seems like fate, especially as we lived 220 miles apart when we met.
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be
  • And ...

My Mum and step sister's brithdays are on the same day (25 July). Me (27th) and my Nan's (25th) birthdays were 2 days apart. My dad was also born on 27th of a different month, and my aunty on 27th of a third month. My other sister and another aunt are both 28th November. That's 3 x 25th and 3 x 27th, and 2 x 28th!

The new generation has decided on the 6th! My DD, neice and horse are all the 6th of different months. The only other close family members are my grandad who is 2nd Nov and my other niece who is 2nd December.

One of my good friends' DS was born on her birthday and her DD was born on Xmas day ... as was her Mum! There is definitely something strange about birthdays.

    Ohh I've got a few.

About 9 years ago I went on holiday with my sister to Kos, the kids stayed at home with their dad (ex doesn't like hot weather) on the first day there I bumped into my daughters bestfriend from school and her parents, a few days later I bumped into the bloke who ran the icecream van round out village and at the airport on the way home I bumped into a lass that works in our local co-op.

When my daughter started uni in September at her first lecture she sat next to a lass she didn't know. They got chatting and not only do they have the same birthday but they were born within 10 mins of each other!

I didn't know my biological father, we moved away from the area he lived in when I was little and he didn't keep in contact. 21 years later my cousin who lives in that area was picked up from work by taxi, (something she'd done for years and always by the same taxi co as they had an arrangement with the hotel she worked at), she noticed the drivers name was the same as my biological dad (and therefore her uncle by marriage) so she started chatting to him and yes it was my Father......strangest thing was this all happened on my 24th birthday. He'd been working for the taxi co for years but it was the first time he'd been sent to pick her up.

A few years later he died and my auntie went to his funeral, where she met 2 of his daughters, my half sisters. We all got in contact and we were really surprised when we got chatting and realised that my sisters then youngest daughter and I share the same birthday!

and one last birthday one, my inlaws birthdays are 22nd and 24th of Jan, My sisters is the 23rd so that 3 days on a trot I have birthdays to buy for lol
