Options
Hi

Having problems with TalkTalk broadband

Following there offer of free broadband i placed an order for landline and broadband package on 23rd February 07. Recieved all the relevant paperwork through and was told that my phone would be switched to talktalk on 30th March 07-no problems, all went smoothly. Got notification and refund from BT etc

Had go live date for broadband of 1st April 07. I Still am waiting for Modem and software espite several calls to them. i have been told a variety of different things

Call 1 (3/4/07)- been a hold up with orders. wait 10-15 days and call back if still not recieved it
Call2 (13/04/07)- your phone line is not with us which is why you have ot been sent modem etc. Explained that it was with them and reasons why i knew it was with them and it was then stated that my account was in pending abd i should have modem in 24-48 hours:confused:
Call 3 (20/04/07) account still in pending. would take 24-48 hours to get out of pending:mad:
Call 4 (25/04/07- following automated call telling me i needed to give them MAC code from current supplir (havnt had BB since before xmas last year!!) Told that Modem had been sent out previos day and as i hadnt recieved it yet, a form would be filled in on my behalf (how kind:rolleyes:  ) to order another one to be sent to me. Shoulfd have it in 4-5 days
CAll (2/5/07) Account still in pending as error with account :confused: would recieve personnal attention and worst case scenario looking at 10-14 days to recieve modem:mad:

Am i the only one having problems??

Thanks Billsaving. It appears that talktalk can afford to give people free broadband because they dont bloody send the modem to them!!!!

As a fellow sufferer in Talk Talk purgatory, I can only upset you further by stating that if my experience is anything to go by, the arrival of your modem will only be the start of your problems.

I posted my story over on page 14 of this thread.

There are lots of other similar stories there. You might be lucky and get a good broadband connection straight away. However, if you don't and have to start using Talk Talk call centre hell, then woebetide you.

Good luck anyway and sorry for the doom and gloom

I can't even get as far as being sent a modem! I was promised broadband live date from Talk Talk on 16 Dec 06 and still nothing. They transferred my phone line from BT in a nanosecond though and start taking my money! To date I just get varying excuses from them and they have now let three MAC codes expire and have now asked me to get hold of a fourth. I am suspicius that they don't have the equipment installed in my local exchange and don't want to be honest and admit it. Not suprisingly I don't have any faith in Talk Talk anymore and am concerned that the next stage will end up leaving me with no braodband at all...at least at the moment I still get expensive BT Broadband. I'd cancel the whole lot but am tied into an 18 month phone contract and can't image what nightmares I would be getting into if I was to try cancelling. Uggh.

I'm almost too embarrassed to tell you this, but.................I ordered TalkTalk B/B and home phone in early April - my phone was taken over by them in late April, very smooth; on 10th May they rang and asked for the MAC and on 17th May my B/B was taken over by them.

It has been a walk in the park - I'd been with BT B/B for 5 years, but got pi**ed off with the price; now got B/B and free local and national calls for £20 a month. Not cheap if it's no good but it's fabulous and has been a glitch free transferral of both phone and B/B. The B/B speeds are exactly the same as I was getting with BT, by the way.

I told them I didn't need a modem or router - the software arrived 3 days before the B/B switchover; I wonder if the hardware supply is the problem??
I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.

No you certainly are not, there have been an awful lot of threads regarding this company.

Words of advise - note every call made or received. Along with persons name and the details of the conversation..

If you are unhappy try emailing the c.e. you will find his address in Feb/March posts and also there is a number to ring. Also, remember you can contact Ofcom.

We were unlucky with it all but if it does work properly for you (once you get it)!!!! it is a good package.

Hope everything is resolved quickly and good luck

Just cancelled our talktalk contract after a year. Totally disgusted with their customer services. All well and good when things are going smoothly, but when there is a problem it seems to be yours and only yours because talktalk sure aren't prepared to help.
