Another vote for the Nexus, wife has one, and even got one for our 6 year old son for Christmas. 2 that's x 2 for Nexus from me.

While I'm an Android fangirl and don't really like Apple products at all. In your case you already have an iPhone, so would suggest that if you like it, you may as well stay in the Apple ecosystem and get an iPad or iPad mini as you will already be familiar with the OS and know your way around it.

I second this, and it's the advice I gave my OH. You can have the same apps on both phone and tablet (although most apps have both versions, not all do, and some have slight differences).
The galaxy note is very good, I'd definitely recommend it.

As far as the Nexus is concerned, since owning a Motorola device (which belongs to Google), I don't trust google with updates, particularly because of the way it's treated UK customers compared to USA ones in terms of updates and keeping their promises.

Motorola are part owned by Google, but they're not really integrated yet. Currently buying from Motorola is just like buying from Samsung or HTC or any other non-Google android manufacturer, you may or may not get updates.

Hell the Google devices, including the current Nexus, are still made by the Korean manufacturers, not by Motorola. It's a little unfair to judge a Google device based on what Motorola pull.

And yes, still waiting for Jelly Bean on my Motorola Droid 4 :)
