Thanks for the replies all. I've been shopping around and compared prices and services and Plusnet still looks to be the best choice:

    Topcashback offer for Plusnet: £80.80
Special 6 month deal for unlimited Fibre £9.99 pm (with phone package) then changes to £19.99 pm
    £13.99 pm line rental

    Sounds like a good deal!

Just moved to Plusnet and it's quite a bumpy start:

    * they made some mistakes on the order. Limited the connection speed and now taking a week to fix
    * BT engineer didn't turn up on first appointment. Plusnet gave them a wrong address
    * Plusnet couldn't tell me when the next appointment would be, then made another appointment without checking my availability first
    * Transfer of telephone line is unknown
    * Billing date was too early by four days, despite having paid for the first month in advance. Basically, they tried to make me pay again after 26 days.
    * Cashback didn't track and it's taking a while to resolve. Not tracking for many people

To be honest, it feels a bit amateur, and I must have called them about 10 times already (always quite a long wait, and people contradicting what other people have said). The connection speed is very good now, but it was a pain to get started and you have to keep chasing them

Just thought I'd update this thread. I migrated to Plusnet on Monday. Overall, the whole process has been straightforward and painless for me and I'm impressed with the speed:

Luckily, I have a Separate Buffalo WAP which does give me ~300 Mbps

Blame bt openreach not plusnet on fixing the line.its true that they dont work weekends.

By the way having a weak signal is unlikely to be plusnet problem unless its faulty equipment from them. Sounds like you got a weak wireless signal? It your wireless router too close to anything and located in a suitable place?

Going to bt or sky by the sounds of it wont solve your troubles......

I'm one of the lucky ones, not had any major problems (yet, touchwood) with the Technicolour router supplied with fibre.
