  • Morning all,

Bit blustery out there today, apparently will die off later I hope!

OH is back from his fishing trip and making a right mess as per usual! Oh well, seeing mum and dad tonight so he can fend for himself....

Must start getting things organised for our trip away to Monnagran country next weekend. It's our anniversary on Valentines Day, but he's on call so decided to do a cheap hol deal for a long weekend. Cannot wait!

Hugs to all who need them x

  • Good morning everyone :)

Am being very well looked after by DH who made me a lovely dinner and brought in all kinds of things that I like, to have while he is at work. Aldi's yoghurt drink with cereal is highly recommended to anyone who doesn't feel much like eating.

I finished 2 books I was in the middle of and have a new one to start today. I may watch some daft TV too, my attention span isn't brilliant and I keep nodding off so that may do as perfect background.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all,

very chilly out there & blowing a gale, nice and bright though so thats nice.I'm another who had a bad night's sleep,DH tossing & turning trying to get comfy with his bad back.I went in DGD room in the end and we were woken by the doorbell at 7.30 when the bricklayer arrived to go to work:eek: with DH.Good job we know him well :D

Need to get some more washing in,and a dog bedding one too.DS2 is going away to the lakes for a long weekend with DF to celebrate their engagement tomorrow night after he's seen DGD,we'll take her home and she's still staying over with us on Sat,so need to be organised.

Chicken breasts in some form tonight, not decided what yet.Did a sort out of my stores cupboard yesterday & I can see what I've got now :D I confess to throwing an unopened pack of quinoa dated early 2010,I think I've already shoved it to the back once,& some bulgar wheat, only about a third left in that tho'.I buy it cos I love making tabbouleh but don't do it often as no one else is very keen.Might have been ok but just don't fancy it now :o.

Right, better go & do something useful,I'm out having my hair done tomorrow in town,& errands so will be out for most of the day.

Hope you all have a good day x

    Morning everyone,

Hilstep Hope that your knee is a bit better today.

    Jools Hugs.

Tina really sorry that you didn't get your visit.

It is really cold here this morning and we had some (un-forecast) snow yesterday but it didn't settle.
Busy at work this week so haven't had a lot of time to post but I have been reading daily.

I have got the frozen turkey breast from Christmas out of the freezer and I think that I will make it into a curry for tonight's tea.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Went with DH to Specsavers this morning so he could have his eyes tested, his first freebie eye test as an over 60. We went to Specsavers as, if he needed new glasses he'd get 25% off as an over 60.

Good news - no new glasses needed. That was a relief, as I've just had new glasses myself, and my car goes in for a service in a couple of weeks and the tax and insurance is up for renewal, so there's enough paying out to be done.

On the way back went into Dobbies for our February free Gardening Club cup of coffee, also had a piece of shortbread each that was yummy.

The wind is bitter out there, so pleased to be home for the rest of the day. Should have somebody calling round to pick up an eBay sale, and will do some more eBay listing this afternoon.

We'll be having salmon for dinner this evening.

    Keep warm all

Tina your post yesterday sums up why I refuse point blank to have human house-guests. Next time she turns up - let's see.... The TV's kaput, you're out of coffee and won't be buying any more til pay day, and you're just about to start redecorating the spare room.:D

Re phones: I don't answer the landline. Ever. Anyone wants to talk on that, they get the machine. My mobile has three ringtones; one is assigned to Mr LW (all his phones - personal mobile, work mobile, work landline and our landline go onto that), a second for the dog-sitting service, so that the agent can call me if there's anything urgent, like when Sidny's owners got stuck abroad with the ash cloud and she needed me to keep him an extra couple of days (for normal bookings stuff, she emails me), and the third is "everyone else", which 999 times out of 1000 gets red-buttoned.;)

As for the door - I have a video entry phone, so I can see who's there without physically going to the door. I can choose to a) ignore them totally, they just think there's no-one in, b) answer via the receiver and tell them to go away, c) answer and tell them to give me a few minutes to hobble to the door (for if it's postie with a package, f'r instance).

I made my infamous choccie mousse yesterday (which was an experience, with both wrists splinted) - it's really nice, has fresh rosemary in it, which gives it a slightly exotic taste. I do half the recipe, and that does the two of us for two days, so we've got some more for after our sausage & chips tonight.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I have been eating those nice Belvit@ yogurt and strawberry biscuits and think they are also very good if your appetite is poor.

Hugs to all who is poorly x

Im still in bed for 90% of the time as my disk is well and truly slipped. Im o diazepam and it is good stuff but making my family laugh when I make dreamy comments to their conversations. I was sat knitting and apparently it is one of the main causes as the position you adopt. Who would think knitting is dangerous for your health!

Hugs for a good day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi everyone
Blue skies and sunshine here too Tina blowing a hoodie too, but warm wind. Mid to late teens, but nice sitting on occur sheltered :beer:terrace.

DH's wallet arrived yesterday in tact, TY Campanile & courier.:j:j:beer::D. We celebrated by going for. cheaply Chinese, while one of the neighbours adopted Skye for the evening.

Organising a group to go to the Chinese NY eve on Saturday 18€ including wine and music and dancing, and of course fireworks.

Been to Lidl this morning, they had 3 Tomato Passata (Frita) for 0.82c so popped one in the store cupboard. Had got half a kilo off this morning , but still 1.5kg more than I was when last out here. I must try harder, only 14 months to lose at least 2 dress sizes for the wedding. Growing my hair easier than losing the weight!:rotfl::rotfl::o

Tea tonignt is the second half of the chicken, which was on for last night, and must strip it and get the carcass in the SC for Skye.

Laptop up the creek, currently on iPad but have borrowed a neighbours Lappy to ensure everything backed up totally before starting to rebuild the OS. PITA when not at home, but think I have everything with me.

Did get a load of darks washed and dried outside yesterday, must remember to put another load on tomorrow, wish the wind would die down a bit.

Come on LW share the Choccy Mousse recipe.

Molly, TTFTM, Jools, Hstep. And any one else not good, ((hugs)), spoons, etc., for you. Jackie, have an easy day, Monogram, "calm down dear" grab a coffee and poke your nose in.

    Take care everyone. DG
