I've just filled in my details and I can save money !!!
My fixed rate finished on 31/3/13, when is it best to switch to avoid early exit fees?
Or should I just wait til 01/04/13?
How much are your early exit fees?
Could you get cashback from anywhere to offset the cost of those fees?
The sooner you switch, the sooner you save (but you are right to consider the effects of any early exit fee)
A switch will typically take 4-6 weeks (but could be as early as 3 weeks)
I think you will probably be best waiting another couple of weeks (unless you fear the new tariff you are hoping for might get pulled in that time)
I hope you don't mind me saying, but it looks like you've been paying over the odds for a long time, at least since you opted for that fixed rate deal you currently have if any deal today beats it.0 -
early exit fees are £100 but cashback is only £30.
I'll trundle onto the standard tarriff in April and then switch (Maybe)Fat and proud lol0 -

No I don't mind you saying
I'm new to the switching of energy system (Mortgages I'm really good at lol).
Tarriff has been locked in for a while and usually left to auto renew
I've set a date for the 21st March and then I'll redo the comparison and take it from there,
Many thanks for your adviceFat and proud lol0 -
i'm trying to register - everything filled in correct but i keep getting

Have been meaning to switch for ages. Had to put it off for various reasons a few months back and thought I'd missed the boat on the fixed rate deals. But have just managed to switch to a fixed duel rate and save £270/yr

I have a big complaint about the Cheap Energy Club - there does not appear to be any way of contacting them. I applied to switch my energy supply through the Cheap Energy Club on 6th February, but the new supplier (Ovo Energy) has not received the application. There is no telephone number for me to contact the Cheap Energy Club to find out what has happened, and an email that I sent to their email address resulted in the following unhelpful automatic reply:Hi
Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately we can't reply to every email. If you've emailed us about a tariff not listed, we'll be looking into it. For other queries try having a look at the FAQs
Many thanks

I really would have expected better customer service from something that is being promoted by MSE.
I have now applied to switch to Ovo Energy via Simply Switch.0 -
Spark is cheapest for me -£126 saving pa
but Warning! We've had a disproportionate amount of bad feedback on Spark. It didn't announce price hikes in the last round - it may do soon (not an issue if you're going for a fix) but fix deal not cheap for me
They seem one to avoid - is there anyone with good experience of them??0 -

No, no one at all. Not one single customer has had a good experience of Spark ... allegedly.;)
I would urge you pay £126 per year extra for exactly the same gas and/or electricity from another supplier.
I would also suggest you do not consider buying from any supermarket other than Waitrose, nor drink any larger other than Stella Artois as they, too, are both reassuringly expensive. :cool:0 -

Are you with Spark Energy, Wywth?0
