    Hi all,
Snowing hard here,& a lot of traffic disruption, took DS1 an hour at 8.30 to get from his mates where he stayed last night, its only a mile up the road.Don't fancy being DH & DS2,starting the foundations for an extension today,& DH is already struggling with sciatica :(

    Hilstep,sorry about your fall.
    Hugs to Jools,and Tina
Hope you feel better soon TTFTM & Molly.

Fuddle,I'm a qualified NN,though not working now.I used to work in KS1,mainly Reception and in the summer term we always visited the children who were going to start in our class in September. The majority were in private nurseries & it always struck me how variable the provision was, some were not good at all :( If I was going to send my babies somewhere,I would want all the staff to have a good qualification and be valued by paying more than MW.I did look at nursery jobs a couple of years ago on various websites for my area, and not many paid above.I think you get more for cleaning than childcare
By the way,re the panny,I'm sure you're doing it right, but for some reason the order you put the ingredients in is different to other breadmakers -yeast in 1st,then flour and I put the sugar and salt in seperate corners.I also find if the room is cold it can affect the bake a bit too.
DGD is visiting tonight so I want to get tea ready before she arrives, fish cakes, new pots and veg,& still have some of the cake I made for DS1s birthday yesterday.
Bye for now & take care x

  • I have had 2 pannies and never had a problem with either of them using the timer or otherwise. Love them to bits. It makes the best bread I have ever had. Try their help line, see if they can find a reason for whats going wrong anf how to correct it.

    morning all

tea last night was lovely. hm chicken and bacon pie with jacket potatoes cauli and carrots with an onion sauce. think ive totally fogotton i should be watching what i eat:rotfl:
today im feeling much better but also feeling grrrrrr. i had a kenwood 250 bm about three years ago and the tin was very scratched so ( as i was not a moneysaver at that time) i had heard that the panasonic was the best so as i made bread every day i had to have it. now all i can remember was i never had a bad loaf in the kenwood. the panasonic is rubbish. it now seems that every time i use it on timer it comes out awful. and of course i need to use it on timer!! i work every day!! ive changed recpies, researched the best ones. i feel so sad. i cant get another one as i dont have the money and i want to use it every day. i prob make 5 loaves each week and then pizza dough. it seems fine for dough but its the baking.:mad::mad::mad:
    rant over.
tea tonight is cauli broc cheese and hm fish cakes. should be yummy too.
should be leaving for work now but im sitting here under a blanket with a cup of tea. good job im the boss lol:p
    have a good day everyone

I found the same with the panasonic as well until I ignored the advice about putting the water in last, so I started to rinse the pan out with boiling water then I put the warm water in first just like I did with my old morphy richards then I added a knob of butter or a tbsp oil, then the flour (400g strong 100g plain) a tsp salt in the corner and the yeast in a well in the middle and so far so good x

  • Phoned the doctors for my blood test results and I have to make an appointment to see the doctor but as she is part time I have to ring either tomorrow or Friday for an appointment for that day :(
Booked my ophthalmology appointment and that is not until the 9th April and that is the soonest on the click and book service .
It is getting that you couldn't even sell me for parts :p

We went over to Bletchley this morning and I was very disappointed with B&M they have changed all the shelves around so that you can't find anything and to top that their prices have really gone up :( then we went to TK Max and got a few bits including books on self sufficiency and allotment gardening and another on pests and diseases and an RHS growing guide, a nice Japanese kitchen knife, a tefal frying pan, a diamond sharpener for DH's tools and an axe spent £38 but we got a lot for our money :D

Monnagran Do you ever sit down ? Catch us up when you meet yourself on the way back :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:x x

Just going to put the heating on, it is blooming freezing

    Afternoon all,

My daily routine is out of the window and hubby seems to have lost the use of his legs.

I am finding it hard to adjust to having him at home and i am spending a lot of time in my bedroom watching television or on my pc in here whilst he is doing his own thing downstairs.

I'm sick of hearing about how the economy is (cause thats all he is going on about right now) and he's gone back to nagging me about moving to Canada.

    Someone pass the earplugs please.

Amongst all the negativity in my life, two good positive things i have to be thankful of. My daughter has started to feel her baby move inside her and my cough is better.

    Onwards and upwards eh? :(

Hilstep, sorry to hear about your fall and Jools, have a ((((hug))).

In an attempt to avoid the tax form ,I have baked a Victoria sponge, although its all in a good cause as I have never made a sponge in this oven and its DDs birthday on Valentines Day, so needed a trial run. Opened the oven door too soon, so one has a bit of a dip in it, but the cream will disguise it. Will no doubt be scoffed after dinner as DDs boyfriend is coming for dinner and is a bit of a bottomless pit! Will throw together a sausage casserole, and have sweet potato and butternut squash needing used, so that can roast at the same time!

Am thinking words which mean the same as go forth and multiply, Tina! What a cheek!!!

Dinner was scoffed, although the casserole was rich, so the sweet potato and butternut was a bit sweet for it, IYSWIM, give it half an hour and DD or boyfriend will be at the fridge door removing cream cake, don't even know why I filled it with cream as I don't like it, and it hates me, plays havoc with my IBS!!! Am sure they will eat most of it and DS may sample a few crumbs when he comes home from work, he's like me and doesn't really do sweet things but he will think he's missing out if he doesn't have a bit!
    RIP Iain
