    Morning all,

Hope your not too bruised hillstep.

Snow in Manchester and the roads are grid locked. Took dh an hour and a half to get to his first job this morning, would only normally take 20 mins. Couple of major accidents on the motorways and a road closure means everything is in chaos. Hope nobody has been seriously hurt:(
Bit fed up of waiting for my crb to come through. Surely there is a better system thank this. I've always had a crb wherever I've worked, I know they can't be too careful but surely. Those who have had clear crbs for the last twenty years could be put through a bit quicker:mad: ok rant over.
The reality of sticking to a very strict budget is hitting home today and I know we are in for a long slog, even though I know it was absolutely the right thing to do.
Not sleeping great what with worrying about money and the pain in my knee, might have a little power nap this morning.
Stay safe and warm whatever your up to J x

TTFTM just read your post, glad your home safe and sound x

    Good morning everyone :)

Am home and in one piece but looking a bit worse for wear and feeling a bit sick and dizzy from anaesthetic and painkillers.

I have a warm sofa, duvet, pillows and book waiting for me so just dropped by the offer well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Same here x

Hugs for a good day x

Grr, just lost a post, lappy has been not connecting here very well since yesterday, lets try again!
Tina, sorry about abandoned visit, thought that's what was wrong when you posted last night, the road from your neck of the woods can be awful in bad weather, big hugs hun!
WM number 2 on with towels, lentil soup bubbling in pot, and DS up and about early as he has a CBT appointment, seems to be helping him and he's finally agreeing with m that he doesn't need antidepressants!
Snow is on again so won't be going far today, if I need bread or anything will go to the Co-op across the road, otherwise will fill in tax form and empty the ironing pile, oh the excitement of my life!!!
Hugs to all, hope Hilsteps knee heals quickly, and stay under the duvet TTFTM!
    Have a good day!

    Good morning :)

So sorry to read you've had a fall hilstep but pleased to read this morning that you're feeling better :)

CRB check times vary don't they? I was warned to wait up to 2 months for my last one. Luckily it came through after 3 weeks but in that time it left a school a staff member down at lunch time. Hope yours comes through quickly.

I went for a job interview this morning. You know what? I don't want to work there. It was a nursery, a private nursery. The interview took all of 5 minutes, a quick look around and then a shake of the hand with departing words "We're looking for unqualified people so we can train them to our standard. We'll be in touch if you're successful." I'm qualified Nursery Nurse with 10 years experience working in schools with children with special needs. :( I'm gutted but my principles are standing firm. I don't want to be associated with an establishment who would take people without qualifications or experience to work with and care for babies and children. It was a minimum wage position any way. I don't understand why the qualifications should be something to discriminate against.

Anyway, boring today. More housework and hope that the spot I let my dog off the lead is free of people and dogs so I can do some off lead training with him.

Have a good day everyone, hope the weather isn't causing too much havoc for you all.

Fuddle With job interviews, I always think of it as me interviewing them. If they're not right for me, I wouldn't work there even if they offered me the job!

Hope everyone is ok this morning, special thoughts for Hilstep, Jools, Tina and TTFTM

I had another odd nights sleep. Took ages to drop off, then I had a dream that seemed to last all night, I kept half waking up and then carrying on with the dream. It was an unsettling type of dream, about a missing person and then all the investigatation that took place to solve the mystery of the disappearance. At times in the past I have done some writing, and have taken inspiration from my dreams. If only I could remember this dream in detail I think it'd be a great story!

Anyway, DH went off to work at 6.45,next thing I know it's 9.15! If only I could sleep at night like I do in the morning, I'd have no problems.

I've been out to run a couple of errands, WM on, some ironing to do, then on with the de-cluttering.

    Dinner tonight is Spag Bol

    Have a good day all

tea last night was lovely. hm chicken and bacon pie with jacket potatoes cauli and carrots with an onion sauce. think ive totally fogotton i should be watching what i eat:rotfl:
today im feeling much better but also feeling grrrrrr. i had a kenwood 250 bm about three years ago and the tin was very scratched so ( as i was not a moneysaver at that time) i had heard that the panasonic was the best so as i made bread every day i had to have it. now all i can remember was i never had a bad loaf in the kenwood. the panasonic is rubbish. it now seems that every time i use it on timer it comes out awful. and of course i need to use it on timer!! i work every day!! ive changed recpies, researched the best ones. i feel so sad. i cant get another one as i dont have the money and i want to use it every day. i prob make 5 loaves each week and then pizza dough. it seems fine for dough but its the baking.:mad::mad::mad:
    rant over.
tea tonight is cauli broc cheese and hm fish cakes. should be yummy too.
should be leaving for work now but im sitting here under a blanket with a cup of tea. good job im the boss lol:p
    have a good day everyone

What's it doing to your loaf? I have a Panny and it makes a lovely loaf albeit I've never used the timer function.

    Morning all.

Still feeling in a funk but I shan't go on, getting bored of my own complaints :o
Just housework here which I really CBA to do :o
Had a letter come this morning. Would appear that H has been nicked for speeding  so either points and a fine and an increase in insurance (which go up anyway because of that dratted deer accident) or the option for speed awareness course. I shall be nagging him for the latter.

Got another viewing for Sat so that's something vaguely positive.

Not sure about tea mojo today has done a runner. Might do a bacon risotto or something.

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Tina sorry you didn't get to see DS x

    Hilly take it easy xxxx

    Molly hugs for you xxx

    TTFTM take it easy xxx

Fuddle  what a crock? Train them to their standard my @rse. Looking for people on the cheap more like. Any wonder why some of these places have such a high turnover of staff. Hope something better turns up for you soon x

that's exactly it. They advertise for unqualified staff and offer them training. Pay minimum wage and once they'be qualified they are able to let them go as they don't have vacancy for qualified staff. Then readvertise. A way of saving themselves money

It maybe because they've changed the system - it's called the Disclosure & Barring Service now, and your clearance will be mobile & you can take it with you, rather than having to have a new one for each & every employer.

Really? I'm so cross. So even though I was willing to do a job at minimum wage I couldn't do the job because I was qualified.

It would have cost me £38 per day to put my children in that very same nursery for only before and after school. Working a full shift would have earned me £43ish. I have been told on the toughies thread that I can get tax credits to help pay for childcare but to be honest now this has happened this morning I feel blergh, damned if I do and damned if I don't.

Still, university application. Second plan of many.
