O/S Daily Monday 4th Feb 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been up since 4:30, so I'll be flagging later. Fish have been fed, DW has been on & is finished, I'll unload it in a minute and I need to make a sandwich for my lunch. No idea what's for tea tonight, hubby can choose & cook it, he's on holiday this week.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Now getting light and still blustery but dry here this morning,
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was roast chicken pieces, mash, veg, and gravy - clean plates all round. Not sure about tonight will decide at some point during the day.
Work yesterday was busy but at a steady rate so day passed quickly, especially the afternoon, today possibly won't be as busy - we'll see! Have training tomorrow morning so going to the other office.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all.
Light covering of snow here.
DH been out with doggie. It's good to see it getting lighter in the mornings - what a lovely difference it makes.
Made the packed lunches last night so that saved time this morning.
tea tonight is cajun salmon, baby potatoes and salad. My sister brought us some lovely salmon fillets a month or so ago, in 3 freezer bags, all labelled. What a good sister!
Letter came in yesterday from DD from Thailand so although her news was a little bit behind Face Time chat, it was so lovely to receive a hand written letter. A rare thing these days! Lovely to save it until after tea last night and then sit down with a cup of tea and read it with a big smile on my face.
Younger DSS and his girlfriend come up in a week and a half so tonight I am going to menu plan for that week so I can make most of it ahead and freeze it. I get in from work before 5.30 so I know it isn't late home but it will be easier to have food organised.
Have a good day folks. (((hugs))) to those having a hard time.

Morning :hello:
Hilstep how are you feeling this morning? xx
Found the leak, thankfully nothing needed to be taken apart, just a replacement flexi-pipe.
I read somewhere on here that someone was using old material for stuffing cushions, they cut it into thin, short strips. Bit miffed because last week I binned a load of old t-shirts  They were tatty old things that we'd worn for decorating, they were holey and covered in paint splashes. Master tru has just replaced his mattress, the old one is in the garden waiting to go to the tip, I'm going to rip it apart and use the material

tea last night was lovely. hm chicken and bacon pie with jacket potatoes cauli and carrots with an onion sauce. think ive totally fogotton i should be watching what i eat:rotfl:
today im feeling much better but also feeling grrrrrr. i had a kenwood 250 bm about three years ago and the tin was very scratched so ( as i was not a moneysaver at that time) i had heard that the panasonic was the best so as i made bread every day i had to have it. now all i can remember was i never had a bad loaf in the kenwood. the panasonic is rubbish. it now seems that every time i use it on timer it comes out awful. and of course i need to use it on timer!! i work every day!! ive changed recpies, researched the best ones. i feel so sad. i cant get another one as i dont have the money and i want to use it every day. i prob make 5 loaves each week and then pizza dough. it seems fine for dough but its the baking.:mad::mad::mad:
rant over.
tea tonight is cauli broc cheese and hm fish cakes. should be yummy too.
should be leaving for work now but im sitting here under a blanket with a cup of tea. good job im the boss lol:p

Hilstep hope your not too bruised this mornin
jools the best thing you can do is have a good howl when you feel like it .You must still be feeling pretty fragile at the moment so every day its baby steps. Its 10 years this July since I lost my OH and I still get to having a bit of a sniffle at times ,especially when things go wrong or just because I miss him still.I spent two thirds of my life with him and when you lose someone like that its a big hole is left.
well the sun is shining and the sky is blue but its blooming freezing. No snow as yet, but I think some showers are forecast at some point.I shan't go near the shops today as I have enough stuff in store and I would rather be indoors in the warm.I will have to go to the post office tomorrow to post off some birthday cards but hopefully the wind may have dropped a bit by then I have just put some rubbish out for the bin men and its blooming perishing outside .So wrap up warm folks if you have to go out.
Right time for some coffee then I am going to bake some twinks and maybe a lemon drizzle cake as the cake tins are looking a bit sparce
Take care all
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
