Made a £20 overpayment off the mortgage today.
Baby steps....
Still can't decide how to use up oranges and lemons.
Had chicken, sweet potatoes, carrots and peas for tea tonight. I took some mushroom sauce out of freezer to have with it.
Took more chicken out of freezer for tomorrow night. We still have some sweet potatoes and carrots left...and parsnips. Might dice and roast the parsnips.
(Peel and dice parsnips. Put in a tub with 2 tablespoons oil. Put lid on and shake vigorously. Pour into baking tray and cook in oven) healthier then frying anyway.
Right, better see if I can sleep tonight. Or if it will be another night of lying awake for over an hour then having more night terrors until i wake up distressed. After which I finally manage to sleep.fingers crossed I've stayed up long enough for me to fall asleep quickly and wake up refreshed in the morning.

Going to bed late worked! I slept well -when I finally got to sleep - and got up at just gone 8am.
Done 2 loads of washing and only got about 2-3 loads left to do.
No spend day for me today.
Mr tc paid for milk and flour and paper this morning. £3.23 + £6.22 at post office.
He gave me a tenner so the change 0.55p going in my pot ready to bank when I have enough change. I'm aiming for £100 before I bank it. Currently have over £60
Picked cream up from chemists today for my eczema (paid for it on Monday but it wasn't in stock). Not had eczema before, Dr putting it down to stress.
Managed not to switch heating on all morning. Putting it on now though as it's turning decidedly colder.
Gonna see if I can make a chicken recipe for tea, as recommended by Tilly.thanks Tilly.

Just checked my century saver-that i bought about 25 years ago. I started using it again last year. When it's full it holds £100 in 20ps 50ps and £1 coins. The 50p compartment is big enough to hold £2 coins. With a mixture of all 4 types of coin I currently have about £65-I think it will probably hold about £200 if I continue to save £2 coins as well as 50ps. I also have a pot for smaller change-about £6 guesstimate.
Trying to fill the saver but can't decide whether to pay it off the mortgage or put it into savings when it's full....
We need a new bathroom and kitchen-didn't manage it last year. Personally I could probably cope for another couple of years and concentrate on the mortgage but Mr tc is keen to get the jobs done sooner...

Didn't get much sleep last. Night-again. I was still wide awake at half past 2.
Wide awake at just gone 7.
I did manage to check one of my accounts and have over £200 in savings. It's in an account that isn't easy to transfer money back to my regular accounts so I manage to save more-that's the plan. The aim is to have 1k by June.-long way to go.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hope you get a better night's sleep soon. I feel your pain!
Good luck with the savings. Could you compromise with your OH and get one of the kitchen/bathroom done, and then do the other once you've paid down the mortgage a little more?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
