Trying for a Baby Part 9

At last code!!! Make sure he does it.0

DH seemed to accept it when I asked him, but it took him ages to organise as he goes to a different GP to me. About 3 weeks to get an appointment with the GP, then a few weeks to book the SA, then 2 weeks to get the results. Which were wrong (they came back with zero, but had left the sample for 2 hours before testing, so it was wrong).
Not sure why it took two weeks to get the results when they clearly did the analysis on the day!
I then got frustrated at talk of another 4 week delay, so booked for him at a private clinic. Booked on Friday, test on Monday, results on Tuesday. Much more efficient!
I know this is advice most people will ignore - but if at all possible get him to try to talk to his friends about it. My DH somehow ended up talking about TTC (as I'm quite open about it these days) with one of his friends on a boys night. Turns out 3 of them were TTC, and all being dragged about by their wives, and taking tablets, and doing tests. One other had SA problems too - and since then DH has been sooooo much better about TTC. He is interested, and even takes his tablets everyday without me prompting him!! Talking about it made it seem more normal, and he didn't feel so alone. He isn't much of a talker, so I was stunned when I heard about this boys night conversation, but it has made a big difference.
I know it's the hardest conversation ever, but perhaps if you have the courage to start the conversation with a friend while he is there - it may help.0 -

My OH was really good about it. Be aware, it took 3 months for our SA date which we didn't know about, which has delay things.
Good luck.
On house hunting, our offer has been acceptedYAY
3 months?! It took 3 weeks to get a doctors appointment for DH. At this rate I'll have gone through menopause before we even try clomid!!!
Yay on the offer being accepted. So exciting!!!Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Yeap it took 3 months. Both were shocked. Because his results weren't great, he had to have another wait 3 month wait for another one. One 2nd cycle of clomid from today. it's frustrating to wait, wish I had more time on my side. Am 37 soon.
It is excitingjust all the paper work to sort out in the next week. We both keep looking at each other and going WOW. Just so glad we found a house we both like/love
.
So plenty to keep us busy in the mean time0 -
I am intrigued, what happened on Emmerdale?
Does anyone have any links to research about the effect of alcohol on sperm production? My OH is struggling with not drinking as much as he would like as I have imposed a ban on alcohol :-) He is threatening to go on a bender then pay for a SA just to prove me wrong!!! I would rather he didn't go to such lengths and would prefer him to read a scientific research but there seems to be so much conflicting stuff out there!
Yes, what happened on Emmerdale??0 -
Only soap I follow is the Archers... (I know... *hangs head*) but now _I_ want to know what happened in Emmerdale too!
I just told OH he had to have his test done and to call doctors, and that he had till the end of the week to organise it or I would be cross. He was really secretive about it, but got it done0 -

I could go into massive depth about the storylines leading up to this (I am very sad, I know) but I'm sure no one would be that interested. Basically a character died who I had no idea was leaving, and it was quite a shocking death.
In my defence:D, I don't watch a lot of TV, no reality stuff or other soaps. Emmerdale is my guilty pleasure

Real housewives is mine, now that's TRASH!
Congrats everyone who has persuaded their other halves to have a SA.
