Sorry not ttc related but if you saw an email ref consultation process would you assume redundancy?

This is what's happening with DH at the moment. His team was disbanded and put under consultancy. Some people were made redundant outright. He's got an assessment centre thing this week to see if he gets another job or if he's going to be made redundant. Far as I can tell, it usually means a restructure with a possibility of redundancy rather than a foregone conclusion iyswim?

Oh no. That's terrible. I'm so sorry that has happened to you. I got made redundant a few years ago and I burst into tears in the meeting where I was told and because I'm a really ugly crier they got concerned and felt really guilty. They started off offering me a month's salary because I hadnt been in the post for long and ended up giving me 3 months. It took me a while to find a new job but the one I got was much better. Doesn't stop the worry though. This situation with DH is probably why I haven't ovulated this month.

It's a good thing you know - get your cv in order, start looking around for other jobs in your sector and you might end up with a bit of bonus money for the baby fund or at least in a better bargaining position when it comes to the meetings.

    Big hugs and chocolate.

    Morning Ladies,
I've been lurking for a while now and I want to ask you guys if any of you can advise me?
My DH and I have an appointment with a fertility clinic later this month. We've been trying about 15 months and I'm 41.
Thing is, I've really overweight and I noticed that the letter says they won't treat anyone whos BMI is above 35, which mine is.
Do you think I should postpone the meeting and re-arrange for a couple of month time and diet for Britain or go anyway????

    Ta
Speaking from experience on this one (I lost 6st to be eligible for ivf and got pg 6 wks before the referral for it), GO anyway. They'll be able to do tests in the meantime (which take time) and let you know what your options are. I have to warn you though, at 41 you're unlikely to get assisted conception help (IUI/IVF) on the Nhs  There are other things they can do though, so go find out your options. Good luck :)

Im a bit worried about this, was wondering if all you expert ladies can offer some advice:

Im currently on CD12, been using the Clearblue Ovulation sticks since CD7 (the digital ones with the smiley faces)

    So far its been:

    CD7 Low (Blank circle)
    CD8 Low (Blank circle)
    CD9 Low (Blank circle)
    CD10 High (Flashing smiley)
    CD11 High (Flashing smiley)
    CD12 High (Flashing smiley)

When should I expect the Peak? It says it identifies the 4 best days to get pregnant so I thought I would have 2 days of seeing the High smiley then a Peak??
Im now worried that Im not ovulating and never have a baby :(
Sorry for the long post xx

Hi Chelseablue when I used these in may I had 8 days of high. Unfortunately I ran out of sticks so used cheap opk and got positive result a few days later. Have read on net that a lot of people have more than a few days of high before peak. Try not to worry and keep using stick perhaps on conjunction with cheap ones. I have pack of 20 to use later this month if AF turns up.

    Good advice blondy.

Chelsea you're only on cd12 you have nothing to worry about!

Like blondy says the 2 day thing doesn't seem to actually work like that. I'm on day 2 of high and expecting a few more yet x

    Thank you Claire

Ive always been worrier, I think that as Ive got to the age of 30 without ever having a pregnancy/pregnancy scare I must be totally barren and incapable of conceiving :o xx

I got to 30 before I had my first BFP / pregnancy scare. My good friend got to 33 before she had a scare too (despite never using contraception with her husband of five years). You were probably just using contraception properly which reduces the failure rate!

I never had either. But like comp said you were probably just using contraception properly. I mean the pill is 99.9% effective IF you use it properly. I've lost track of people saying 'but I was on the pill..' Then later I've heard that they were on anti biotics or forgot some - so actually they weren't really on it!

And once you start trying you realise how little the window actually is to get pregnant. So it may have been all those times you did that were no where near ovulation anyway. Or they were but the chance is small anyway if you're withdrawing and even if you weren't the chance is always more likely that you wont get pregnant at any given time.

Which then becomes very annoying when you do want it to happen!
