Hello Lovely Ladies, I have been lurking for a good few weeks now and have finally plucked up the courage to say hello. A little bit of history about me: I am 27, married and have been taking microgynon 30 for about 5 years. We have discussed starting to TTC at the beginning of 2014. However in May I missed about 3/4 pills and had unprotected sex. Fast forward to the beginning of June and I had a missed period. At this point I am feeling (rather naively) quite excited and happy. After several BFN I took myself off to the doctors this morning to find out that he thinks its nothing more than a hormonal imbalance and that I am not yet ovulating (que the feeling sorry for myself). So in preparation for becoming pregnant I am now taking frolic acid and having a rubella shot. I was wondering if anyone has had experience of coming off of the pill and how long it took you to get your body back into its natural cycle. Also is there anything else I can be doing to increase my chances of getting pregnant. I'm really sorry for the long post. I'm not even sure if I should even be posting this in this section. If I'm not would it be possible to tell me where I should be posting this?

Thank you all for your helpful responses.

I was 4 days 'late' based on the day I was predicted to start my period on fertility friend, which I've checked and was supposed to be 14 days before my period was due. We still managed to do it on both the day I was supposed to ov, and the day that I could have (presumably) ov'd 4 days late, although I know that doesn't mean much.

I've gone ahead and bought more OPKs and a thermometer to try using both this month - I was trying to use the OPKs as scientifically as possible, eg only after 2pm, but I'm not great at remembering not to drink so perhaps that affected it.

    BLARGH.

Remember Fertility friend only works on averages until it confirms ovulation with temperatures.

So it will only be basing when your period is due, taking averages of the previous cycles you've put in if you haven't put temps in yet - and even then it will put in average estimates for the months ahead of that cycle - which if youre irregular are pretty useless. You can only really predict AF when you know when ov is.

    temping will definitely help!

Hiya, I checked with nurse this am and she says def go this Friday.. I checked as she had told me to go in on cd1-2 and when I went for the first test - another nurse said strange I went then and not CD 5 ... So it's all very confusing :-( ...

I guess if it is wrong then I'll have them again next month?

Friday is definitely wrong unless you want a test on 4dpo. If you get it at 4dpo and it comes back with low progesterone then it doesn't mean much and was just wasting your time because youll have to get it done again next month...at 7dpo. So do it Monday! :)

What explanation did the nurse use? Unless there is some bizarre reason she wants you to get it done them - but Id hasten a guess she could be one of those people who have no idea what the cd21 test is for/means same as 7dpo, as she wouldn't be the first??

Ive been told the first set of tests is usually done cd 2-5.

Atton you don't need to temp during AF.

But your temps rise each month on FF in a regular pattern so personally Id just carry on doing it in your mouth now.

Hello, sorry not posted for a while but been away seeing family.

    Fingers crossed for you Becca

    Hugs for anyone on CD1

AFM - Decided to really work on it this month as not enjoying job atm, don't want to look elsewhere if trying for a baby so hope it isn't too long before it happens. Going to use conceive plus again this month, start using OVK from CD11 and temp along with staying off the caffeine for as much as poss and eat healthier. Get puppy back from kennels today so looking forward to taking her out for a walk this evening.

Thanks, I had no idea about FF and the temping helping. I've been using a fairly basic app called My Days, which doesn't even compare. Although, the FF app seemed to double count 2 days in my cycle ie it started with cd1 and cd2, and then did cd 1 and cd2 again straight after? Glitch in the matrix?

Looks like I'm going to need another HSG, not had one for 3 years now, fun. Need to confirm this cycle has failed then bring on AF and redo the HSG.

Not managed to read up since Thursday and you've all been busy busy. Hope thateveryone had sunshine and a lovely weekend!

Loulou - I sure hope you're not still in limbo…… I see that yesterday, you were still waiting…..

Kalama - Oh, chocolate mousse is definitely healthy - isn't a basically just air bubbles coated in chocolate, right? And we know that air has zero calories……. :rotfl:

Fluffnutter - you de-lurked to use the word mooer! I love it…… (and as I'm reading on, I see that this didn't go un-noticed) :rotfl: How's your stick addiction holding? I've not seen any for at least a few days! ;)

    Faith2009 & tia86 - sorry for the BFN's. Even if it's early testing, it's still a bummer….. :(

Faith2009 - Sorry that AF has arrived too :(

Code (aka barbie ;) ) - I have a celcius thermometer. I really really don't get fahrenheit! As long as you stick with one or the other though, it's won't matter…. :)
I hope you've not been sick again and are feeling better :)

Gelly - glad you're on FF - do shout if you have questions. :)

Sophiasmum, katy29, angeltreats, becs, chocoholic chick, pomme vert, miskate - hugs for CD1 ladies. Really wish that none of you were on this list :(

Katy29 - Going to try 'extra hard' this month? Naughty twig! Couldn't help but chuckle….. He he he

Angeltreats - Love your list although I did laugh at the top stair. I hope you're ok though. Your post reads like you typed it at 100 miles an hour ;)

Becca - sorry that your scan wasn't what you had hoped for. I'd vote for twins though! How did it go today?

Purcy - Are you on the vit b and/or AC for the short LP? Vit b is making a difference for me so thought that I mention it. I think in the back on my brain, you are taking both, but thought I'd mention it anyway :)

Elsie - yay for OV :)

Lemon Tree - welcome :wave and I wish there was a smiley that could capture the 'woo hoo that's amazing, you're my hero for losing 11 stone smiley'!!!! :D Congrats on the weight loss and I sure hope your BFP comes asap! Well done to you.

Credit crunch - sorry to see your post……. I hope you're doing ok......

Becs - I hope that your heavy bleeding has slowed. If not, do see the gp as they will look to give you some medication to slow it all down.

    Thriftylass - ss'ing much? :rotfl:

    Vickyvics - welcome

Miskate - FF has been a bit crazy this weekend - it wouldn't normally count CD1 &2 twice - it will sort itself out, or just email them in a day or so if not fixed and they'll sort it out for you. :)

I had my gp appointment on Friday for my mid cycle bleeding I've had 2 of the last 3 months. The GP was wonderful and is referring me for a scan and also booking me for 21 day bloods and swabs. AF showed up the morning of the appointment so it was helpful to know where I am with my cycle. I'm CD4 today please list guru maker…….;)

And another reminder for any new ladies using the cbfm - once you get your peak, don't feed it any more (blooming expensive) sticks. It will automatically give you another day of peak then go to low. Never hurts to keep mentioning this to save everyone a few pennies ;)

Still stuck waiting at home, there's nowhere local to buy a preg test, its a good 15 min walk each way to nearest chemist, so I've ordered some IC which will be here tomorrow!

Was just buying a fathers day card online for my stepdad and they had all these cards "from the bump" to the dad to be, made me feel bit sad :(

I know what you mean, I should be 12 weeks on thursday (just in time for fathers day). It's the first year I've been glad OH's dad is rubbish, as at least he won't notice it is fathers day.
