Morning everyone! Woken up to gorgeous weather
Off to a friends for a family bar b q this afternoon - perfect weather for it. Hoping this will be the last weekend where I can have a drink or 2.
On that note - my friends are plotting a girls weekend away for next year and I have signed up for it. When they talked about it before I miscarried I wouldnt have gone as baby would have been 3 months old - now have just paid a deposit.(Its for next Feb) Hopefully I wont get to go but didnt want to tempt fate by not paying???0 -
Sophiasmum no point in putting your life on hold! I am desperate to book a holiday but its not pregnancy putting me off its lack of cash!
I finish my part time college course in a few weeks so my next plan is to lose 1/2 stone to see if that helps with baby making, will help me feel better anyway! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Very tired today. Rocked it big time at the Muse concert last night!
Might go crazy golf with hubbie's nephews and enjoy being out in the little sun we have. I'll see how long I can ignore the cleaning and ironing that needs doing.
What are you ladies doing today? Are you enjoying lazy Sundays or doing something more?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Codemonkey - your not a horrible person, its my MILs birthday today and big family gathering, I don't want to go, as I'll be surrounded by babies and baby talk.
Oh and had a phone call this morning to say my husbands cousin has just had a baby boy during the night, so guessing that'll add to the baby chat. Put me in a brilliant mood lol.
Still light brown spotting here for me, inevitably it'll turn into full AF at some point, but I'm still clinging onto hope it doesn't...0 -

RANT WARNING!...
MILs birthday lunch was terrible, I kept getting babies plonked on my lap (recently I've distanced myself from babies as it hurts too much) and several comments of "its a shame you haven't had kids yet" "your leaving it abit late/your not getting any younger" and my favourite "maybe your not trying hard enough..."
Also learnt hubbys younger brother and his girlfriend are now officially ttc to, so no doubt there happy announcement will be following soon.
I was close to tears at one point as it just seemed a constant barrage of comments. Hubby was great and got me away from it all as best he could.
Thought I was doing ok at planning my life without kids (incase) but it turns out I'm not ok, been close to tears since we got back.0 -

Aww loulou think we've all been there. First of all, well done for not snapping and bursting into tears then and there. Well done most of all for not hitting anyone.
People are very rude about something as sensitive as ttc. If they've been lucky enough not to have suffered the endless wait for a baby then they're probably clueless about how bad it feels and how insensitive it is. I usually confront questions like those with a fixed grin and an internal monologue in my head.
Insensitive moron: so codemonkey when are you going to have a baby?
Me: blah blah generic comment about plenty of time. Rapid change of subject to their child.
Internal monologue: why are you asking me a stupid question you moron. Maybe I'm not having one cause your child is a troll and I don't want to?
Beeatchy maybe, but keeps the tears away.
Either that or a flat "actually, we're infertile, thanks for asking" has the added bonus of making them uncomfortable and making sure they never ask again.
Eta: massive hugs for you.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I did that once. I was so incensed by a work colleague telling me how sensible I was that I'd decided not to have children and what a pain hers were that I took a deep breath and told her that my second round of IVF had just failed, but thanks for asking.
It's a hollow victory but it made me feel temporarily better. You are all of you on this thread (and the Trials and Tribulations one) in my thoughts. You'll get there. It takes a while. It took me years. But you'll get there."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
