Hi ladies. Hope you all have a good weekend.

I tested this morning and got a BFN. Currently CD26 so due on imminently.

I then phone the doctor for my 7dpo blood results and I could tell the poor receptionist felt bad telling me they were abnormal and unlikely I'm ovulating. I feel utterly deflated.

How can you get +opk and peaks on the CBFM and temp spikes but you're not actually ovulating.

Sorry to bring the thread down going to go to bed and see if I feel better in the morning.

    Night xx

Kynthia - Dr said it has to be 7 days before af for the test so I have to rebook, it just seems one thing at the mo.

Clair16c hubby has just fin his course of antibotics so he has to wait till monday to get his urine tested to see if the infection has gone,
5 yrs ago he was told they woukd have to go through his balls to try to get a better sample but he keeps being told he has an infection so no results can be obtained and he has 3 courses of antibiotics now

Im not a dr clearly :), but what has his urine got to do with a SA? Hope its sorted next week anyhow.

Test wise - as Lily has said, and I said in my post, and Kynthia - the test needs to be done at 7dpo. You are tracking your ovulation aren't you, so when you get the cross hairs - or when you get your positive opk, ring up and ask for your blood test to be done 7 days later.

I would guess that if you are ovulating, your test has come out weird because you got it done at 10dpo by which time the progesterone was dropping as it does before AF comes.

Or, perhaps you are not and the result would have been the same at 7dpo, but you wont find out for sure without another check and you need to make sure its done at the right time.

Littleme I will reply to you on PM. Big hugs x

Just read this about progesterone http://www.babymed.com/fertility-tests/progesterone-level and they say 10 - 12 is ok im confused!!

So 7 dpo not 7 days before af for the test ?

Hugs to all those that need one seems to be one of those weekends

I have one more question if you pass blood with ewcm that is pinky red is that classed as af? Could that be a sign of pregnancy? Clutching at straws

How do you get a normal period as this does not feel right for me

We were told he has an infection could be in his tubes or in his urine n that no result could be achieved because of the white blood cells fighting the infection

Kynthia, if you want to post his results you may be able to compare with others who have also had SA's done.

Remember though that one test for him is as useless as one test for us. He could be virtually infertile one week and have super sperm the next so try not to get too disheartened.

I'm hoping to talk to my GP on the phone on Monday, but it's difficult to have a proper conversation about this sensitive topic at work in a busy open plan office.

I don't think it's a terrible SA result but I don't really know for sure. How bad is 10 million/ml? I know there will be people with worse but what does it really mean for us?

Giving his sample wasn't a great experience and they didn't test ph or morphology. I might suggest we pay for a private test in 2/3 months.

A quick look at a few internets sites leads me to believe that a different unit of measurement is used in America compared to England. I think we might measure progesterone in pmol/l and America used ng/ml. Therefore they are completely different, such as 10oz is different to 10kg. However it's very late so I might be wrong.

Good morning! Been reading the last few posts, hugs! Sorry if I'm not commenting much apart from hoping you get some sort of solution, result soon. But I dont know much about these things.

Started seeing a bit of blood today (12dpo) when wiping and despite temp going back up a bit I think tomorrow will be cd1.

Argh! Insomnia again!!!!!! Didn't get to sleep until after 5am and now up as I have a Vigin Experience to redeem. Sooooo tired. However good points are that my 'morning person' hubbie initiated a fun BD which is really good as it might be ov today or tomorrow, and I'm off to desing my own perfume with his sister. :)

We also are going to a Eurovision party tonight. Anyone else embarrassed about our entry? Sweden takes it very seriously so it would have been fun to go to Malmo, I have family on 30mins from there.

Thriftylass - I bet most of us read without posting for days, then either say something they need to get off their chest or respond to what others have posted. I hope the witch doesn't come for you.

...so what did they test then? Did they give an overall number? What about motility, did they say how many grade a there were?
The overall number in the sample is good to know but you need to know how many grade a motility with perfect morphology as they're the ones most likely to get you pregnant. It's no use have 40 million if they're all lazy with two heads.

my husband only did 20 mil I think but 67% were grade a and his morphology was 3%. The WHO guidelines say normal morphology is 4% and over but when I asked I was told that the other factors made that ok and besides, sperm aren't meant to have normal morphology, is typical for them to be weird lol
Dh was pleased about the grade a bit anyway, think that helped his ego and he worked out that he's got 6.4 million 'perfect sperm' so he's happy lol x
