    Hi all,

Congrats to all those with BFP, hugs to all those that need it.

Went to docs this morning and he confirmed my symptoms as a miscarriage. On the positive, this was only cycle 3 we had been trying and I now know I can get pregnant.

Just a quick question, I noticed that some of you mentioned folic acid as something you take. My doc hasn't mentioned me started any vitamins despite knowing I am trying to conceive. Can you shed some light on this. Is there anything I should be taking and anything I should be avoiding whilst trying to conceive. Any little information will be gratefully received. x

Katy - you should definitely be taking folic acid. Ideally at least 3 months before starting ttc. It helps prevent neural tube defects (things like spina bifida).

There are other vitamins that some people would recommend (and some people not) such as zinc, vitamin B etc. But folic acid is a must.
  • Amy - Thanks for sharing your tips Amy. My Oh has given up so much to be with me already that I just feel awful taking away something that he enjoys so much. In order to be with me he had to move to a foreign country, leave behind his elderly mother and his little dog (his mother looked after her when he first came here and then wouldn't part with her), completely change his lifestyle and speak another language but I would love for him to quit smoking,it just feels like I get everything my way and he had to give up everything.

    - Yay for the pma.:j Only a few weeks left till we will fertile enough to concieve a whole litter (kidding;))

BZ - I am practically holding my breath for you....what a terrible time to run out of tests.

    Miffy - I definately see a line - Congrats!

Mrs T-M - I can see how all that spotting would drive you crazy. Your temps are still quite high tho right?
  • Katy - At an absolute minimum, you should be taking folic acid. Some ladies choose to take a prenatal vit, such as Pregnacare, which includes folic acid as well as other vits

Sorry TL :o I was trying to think what dietary recommendations were made when I was ttc DD, and switching from Diet Coke to Caffeine Free DC, definitely stuck in my mind! I don't mind the taste so much, thank goodness. Oh, and also randomly I decide to have showers only this month and no baths :rotfl: Although I don't think that really contributed.

Yep, but I really doubt my temps are linked with anything this cycle. They've been all over.

Next cycle starts our ntnp again. I probably won't be temping next cycle. I will throw in a vitamin B complex with my other meds and see how it goes.

If I counted AF as when I first saw red blood: I'd be on day 11, with 11 days bleeding. If I go from when I've needed a pad, I'd be on day 2. I've no idea what to call, and I honestly think my cycles have well and truly screwed themselves up now. Who knows, maybe the gp will find a reason. I've never had irregular cycles, but I guess there's a first for everything. Who wants to bet that part of the advice will be to stop ttc for a while? While I'm there I suppose that I might as well make an appointment for getting a smear and the full run down and get it over with. Since I thankfully don't have to pay for anything but prescriptions due to the NHS (thank you!) I won't be telling DH about any appointments to deal with woman stuff or ttc. So long as I can get home by 5:30 when he is supposed to be off work, he'll never hear about them, unless something is found. I'm going to try an call them now and get it over with, even though my heart is racing and I feel like I'm going to pass out from just the thought of calling someone!

Can definitely see a line there, looks like congrats for you MiffyMoo! Have my fingers crossed for you too, bigzippy.

Congratulations to all the others with BFPs, see I've missed a few in the last week or so.

Good luck with your weight loss, Mrs TM. I've been where you are too, and I know it's not easy. You will get there though, may be some bumps along the way but you sound pretty determined.

AFM - think I ovulated on Friday or Saturday, so hazarding a guess that I'm 3DPO. Managed a BD again on Wednesday but hubby had a flare up of his bad back and wasn't in the mood for the rest of the week. Getting him started on some back exercises for next month! We may also have to NTNP for another month as waiting for some tests that I definitely can't be preganant for. Hope you don't mind me sticking around here though, will try and contribute a bit more.

I DID IT! Two GP appointments booked back to back for 9:45 am next Monday morning. Means I can leave after DH leaves for work and I'll definitely be home before he gets back from work. Now to just not undo all that I've lost recently and to calm down from making the phone call.

tea lover, two kittens sounds like a great plan either way. hows it all going?

Hope your tests are OK Ruth, ntnp is not too bad anyway!

Eta: Well done Mrs TM! :)
  • Hi all,
    Grats on BFP's
TL 2 little fur balls sounds lovely. Mine are now old but love them to bits.
BZ, right behind you on the trying not to SS

TMI and need telling off for SS = got home from work, went to the loo. Had bright red spots almost like I had a little cut down there somewhere. Has stopped now. Never had before, when AF shows it's a dark brown/red Smear and then full flow a couple of hours after that.
DPO 11 atm. AF normally at DPO 13/14.
Not getting hopes up tho after the OH's bad SA results. So hard tho not to SS when your body does strange things.
    Have a good day all
