Trying for a Baby Part 9

I'm so glad I'm a member of the Itty Bitty T!tty Committee when I hear about your sore kajungas.
Mine get sore too, but it's not that bad because there's not a lot of them!
Keep us updated about your LP lilmiss, I've got a short LP so will be interesting if the B-Complex has any effect.
Kynthia, I agree that it's not that bad having to wear glasses, ladies look sophisticated in them! That said, I had my eyes lasered last year so no more specs or contacts for me! One of my reasons was be that I'd be having a baby 'soon' and wanted to be able to see when I'm up in the night with them and so that I don't have to worry about little grabby hands reaching for them all the time. Also, not being snobby but certain 'opticians' (ahem, the one with savers and specs in the name...) can be a bit keen to suggest that you need glasses when you don't; I know a few people who've been wearing glasses when they don't need to and having headaches etc then going to an independent optician to find that they're either wearing the wrong prescription or only need glasses for driving/close up work rather than all the time. I get free eye test vouchers through work because I use a computer all day but they're only for SS so I pay to go to another one. I love my optician, he looks like Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Craig's lovechild.
Sadly I can empathise with your changing room meltdown sjlou!Had one last week trying on swimsuits. _pale_ Was not fun and I'm determined to up my exercise now because I'm not looking bikini ready at all!

They did the same to me, Birdie, and my glasses cos me about two hundred quid a time as i have to get the lense thinning for any nice frames. went to SS then two years later went to Tesco (always get my eye test free cos they're so bad, and 20 quid towards the frames) and they had overcorrected my right eye so i should be paying another 200 quid to get a pair of glasses that are actually correct but i keep forgetting to go back xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Hey everyone
I've been at a lovely wedding all weekend, so just about to catch up on the weekends posts. Noticed a few more of you posting 'epic' posts. Well done to those extra chatty folks out there.
OV is estimated for Fri so I was hoping to BD tonight, Wed and Fri but I'm off for a girlie night tonight, and have zero chance of getting it in before going out. Out tomorrow too with my hubby, so I will have to wait til Wednesday unless I can wake hubby in the middle of the night :rotfl: After a busy busy weekend, we're both knackered so not sure it's an option
Weigh in at slimming class tonight, don't think I'll be getting my 4 stone award after this weekend, so hoping it's no more than a 2lb set back. Keep your fingers crossed for me
Ok, off to see what you've all been up to....TTC #3..........0 -
That's bad that you've had bad experiences at SS. SS are all franchises so things can be run differently between branches, so you might find that you get on better at another. It can depend on the director and how pushy he is for the staff to hit "targets" etc.
My OH is an optician and self employed, so works at many different chains.... He gives the same standard of test wherever he works.
He has experienced pushy directors at a couple of branches who pay basic rate and then pay a bonus based on revenues from their clinic. Not a good way to run a "health" service.
Birdie oooh no! i didnt go anywhere near swimsuits!! luckily we're off on a city break. the bikini body can wait till the summer!Mini me due March 2014

kynthia - sorry you feel crappy, especially when it's prime BD time. Hope you're feeling a bit better today and the gp appointment went well on Sat.....
TCD - Sorry the news was what you feared. I hope whatever path they need to set you guys on following your results doesn't take too long to get started and whatever the steps and hoops that you have to jump through, I hope that you get your BFP in the very near future. We're all here to support you. As picklekin said, now you know what's causing the delays, you can start moving things in the right direction. That has to better then plodding along and still not knowing.....
Tashatutuw - Hope that the hot flushes have gone now. I even checked the lists to see where you were in your cycle :rotfl:
Elsie37 - Hope being back at work isn't too crappy after a lovely 2 weeks off. It's so hard to go back the longer you're off. I've got a week off coming up and I can't wait!
mincepiemonster - After reading what you got done on Sat morning, you deserved that jam donut! Hope you had a lovely picnic too. The weather wasn't as nice where we were as they had said it was going to be. No snow though, so I can't complain and it was still mostly dry
alice31 - Not sure if you're popping your temps into the fertilityfriend.com website. I find that my temps go and up down quite a lot even before OV, so tracking them in there really helps you see a proper spike and the website will also tell you when you OV'd too.
atton83 - Hope you're finished/getting close to getting your assignment all finished so you can enjoy some sun, if it ever comes....
purcy81 - Long cycles are such a ddrrraaaggggg! I've had some +60 days, and the waiting around is just like the 2ww wait. Hope it's not too long til OV for you
becca0417 - Hope you've finishing all the crappy cleaning and unpacking and are now enjoying your new home
Oh, and hope you 'tried out' that new sofa..... It could be your lucky charm this month :rotfl: Great news on your scan too
loulou123 - Hope you enjoyed all those lovely cuddles with your new niece. They just melt your little heart when they're so tiny. There was a 3 month old at the wedding we were at over the weekend, and I couldn't stop looking at his lovely wrinkly little face. He had just started smiling a few days before.....so cute!
ttc39 - Hope you enjoyed the gym yesterday. I really do wish I was one of these 'got to be active/keep fit people' but it's just not in me. Actually I'd love to be one of those obsessive 'clean your house' people too, but I missed that gene too
sophiasmum - Hope you enjoyed the night in front of the tv with wine last night. Now, this gene I did get :rotfl:
Elsie37 - Huge hugs to you. Hope you're feeling ok and the cramps have died down now.....Chocolate is your friend (and us lot too)
claire16c - What happens in the week 4? Do you have to do a lot of running? I really should look at one of these apps even though at present, I have no intention of starting it :rotfl:
codemonkey - Coathangers for a birthday present and from his own mum! That has to be the worst present ever! Hope you get her something equally crap for hers, although I can't think of anything equally as crap :rotfl: I would suddenly develop a huge interest in football and go and watch it with your OH. No more small talk. Job done
loulou123 - I can just picture your hubby's half asleep face whilst you're whittling on about sperm donors, tee hee. I have a habit of thinking about things and then talking out loud like the person has been listening to what I'm thinking, much to their confusion.... I think it's a girl thing.
Claw84 - welcome. Hope your stay is short with us
optimistic-mummy - why do us ladies always get stuck with the cleaning whilst the OH is out? Does anyone have an OCD cleaning hubby that they can pass around? I'm first in the queue......!
TeamLowe - Oo, I've never been to a baby shower but would have thought it would have been quite fun. Sounds a bit dull from what you said though. How disappointing...... Hope you're all set for you holiday, I'm so jealous and not managed to get to New York yet, so it's still on the 'to do' list
sjlou - Oh, we've all had those horrible shopping days, nothing fits, nothing looks good, you want to spend some cash but can't find a single thing in the shops. The strange thing is, usually if you shop a week or 2 later, you'll find exactly what you were looking for((hugs))
tia86 - welcome back. Hope you had a great holiday and that your feet have recovered!
bigzippy - HUGE CONGRATS on your weight loss. :T You should proud of yourself and every one of those pounds. We all know how tough it is to lose weight. Really, well done to you......
Gopppers - Hi and welcome back . Hope your stay is short and sweet
Birdie85 - Hope you've recovered after all your mojitos!I had laser eye surgery last year too. Isn't it great! Hubby will be getting his done soon. Couldn't recommend it enough to my friends and the whole thing was so quick and easy although not very cheap.....
Oh, and loving the use of kajungas. Long may it stick around on the board :rotfl:TTC #3..........0 -
Thank guys. I'm a little concerned as it was that main brand that suggested I needed them after a local optician said it was only something for the future. However the issue is that I work in front of a screen all day, then spend my 3 hours of commuting reading my phone or kindle, then when I'm at home I'm often on the laptop or still reading a book at weekends. As a result I'm finding my eyes getting blurry. The optician said that if I was a builder or in a profession where I wasn't reading all day then I wouldn't need glasses, but as I'm tiring my eyes out and noticing the effects I should get some glasses just for when I'm reading a lot.
It's silly really but it's just not something I expected to happen. I didn't buy any there and then, would people recommend a certain company over others such as Optical Express, Vision Express, Boots, etc?
Hmm, all this talk of dieting makes me think I should brave a Weightwatchers meeting this evening. I've not been since January even though I'm still paying for the membership which is not very MSE of me.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Depends on your budget. Boots are alright for a chain. Independents tend to have nicer designers though (at least my optician does, sometimes I wish I still wore glasses so I could own some of the amazing designs they sell!
), there's always a little wiggle room with the price and they've got more flexibility with regards to what they can offer. I.e Boots/Vision Express etc only sell *this* lens, but an independent may be able to offer a few options to suit your eyes and purse.
It's not too MSE to say but don't just go for the cheapest option, buy cheap, buy twice!
You'll be wearing them for a big part of the day so they have to look good but most importantly they have to be comfortable!
Twig, the only issue I had with laser surgery was that it took me so long to have it done! Best thing ever (apart from no longer being able to wear the pretty glasses I keep seeing... and the fact that they covered my dark circles and odd patches of eczema that pop up for no reason!). wasn't quite as quick and painless as I thought, but worth it!
Oh and I didn't use a well known chain either... I'm very picky about who I trust with my eyecare!

Thanks twigpig. I am inputting everything on FF as you suggested, but it's still not showing that I have ovulated. I don't know what to think!0 -
Just read a story that a heavily pregnant woman died and her three kids were found killed in Lowestoft, near where DH is from. It's got me completely shaken. It's so unfair. If people don't want children, they should take steps to not have them or at least give them up so people who want kids can have them! It's looking like she killed the babies and then herself. They were 11 months, 2 years, and 3 years old. I feel like my heart has been wrung out over these little ones, and we don't even know them!0
