Becca - we didn't make it to the shelter cause it was snowing pretty badly. Did email another rescue place about 3 dogs so hopefully they'll get back to me soon. DH did say we could go tomorrow but there's a football match on so I doubt it. Football, the watching of and reading about is much more important than anything else including me, any future children and any potential pet. If he paid as much attention to me as he does to football, football manager and computer games, I'd be pregnant 10 times over.

Cysts are only one of the symptoms, which a lot of doctors don't understand. I was told when first diagnosed that you have to have at least three of the five symptoms- excess hair, bad skin, ovarian cysts, long or absent cycles, and a difficulty in losing weight/easy to put it on.

He also said that its a complete grey area cos you can have some of the symptoms some time and may have a mild case or a severe case. He said some women could go their whole lives not knowing they have pcos cos the symptoms are so mild they don't affect their cycles.

And the weight thing is important because fat cells release oestrogen which exacerbates the condition.

It's also why fat men have boobs x

Hugs to tinks and other CD1s. No idea what's going on with my cycle, glad we're ntnp cos otherwise I'd be going crazy x

Yeah i wasnt too convinced by some of the stuff she was saying. I basically seem to have the weird cycles & although I find it hard to put on weight I think that's more down to genes and just being naturally slim. I'm blonde & so don't have much body hair compared to a lot of ladies, and I do get spots but not like acne as such, and normally around ov!

It's like I don't really fit the symptoms but for some unknown reason I just have deranged cycles.

Mind you so many of us have weird cycles, perhaps that is actually 'normal!' Just so frustrating when ov takes ages.

Ov is approaching & I'm regretting buying dh an iPad.
Men ay?! He is currently playing a football game on it.
Hope you hear back about the dogs soon x

Claire - I think it's normal for some women, myself included, to have irregular cycles. Apparently I'm quite sensitive to my hormones and I've definitely noticed that the tiniest bit of stress around ov time has a massive effect as does the amount of light, travel, illness and so on. I'd so love a classic 28 day cycle with ov on day 14.

Becca, I sometimes wonder if I'd have more luck if I had a screen showing football embedded in my body.

Maybe I should go back to trying lunaception. Last cycle I was outside a lot, and I ovulated the earliest I ever have done. Could be just a coincidence but you never know I guess.

The eyemask starts to irritate me though after a couple of nights.

I am also determined to start exercising properly again. Ive started doing the wii just dance again, and last night I downloaded the Couch to 5k podcasts after I saw someone recommend it on here before.

There isnt much more I can do. I eat relatively healthily, barely drink ever, take folic acid and this cycle Im starting vitamin c and zinc, and Vitamin d, Im just sitting and waiting for ov!

We'eve even managed to bd every other day for 8 days now which has to be a record, and we're not as tired as we thought wed be. But if theres no egg its not going to happen!!

Can someone please explain why the part of my brain that governs my body is behaving like a petulant teenager? I've been eating nothing but junk food, drinking loads of 'banned' caffeine in the form of pepsi max, not taking my vitamins and infusions and doing no exercise and I know its bad but I can't seem to make myself do it. It's like my subconscious and unconscious has ganged up and decided that as doing the right stuff is really bad, then it may as well do everything wrong.

I've been like this for about two weeks- the only thing I've managed to not cave in to is caffeine as I couldn't bear the idea of going through caffeine withdrawal again! I cannot be bothered one iota with being 'good'. Seems like everyone in the world gets pregnant at the drop of a hat/ despite the pill etc. etc. that I figure it would've happened by now with all the millions of months I've been good...

Your OH sounds like mine. I have to fight him for the laptop now as he's constantly thinking he's Jose Mourinho (I wish :rotfl:) on football manager...
  • Becca Thanks for doing the lists! :) Can you change me to awaiting AF when you next do the lists? I think I've ov'd but judging by my temps it's my duff ovary that has ov'd this cycle...

    Debt-free and Proud!
I have had some beautiful hand knitted hats, mitts and booties given to me by a patient who said she's never met anyone who clearly adored babies more than me, and that I should get pregnant NOW! Hopefully my body will choose to take her advice :rotfl:

P.S. At the risk of sounding like a crazy lady, I donated most of the sets to the ward for preemie babies who get cold easily, but I have kept one set... they're just so cute!
