Emylou could you go in the Easter holidays instead if youre worried about the summer?

    Hiya Kel
Still no luck for your OH either? When mine was looking in January it seemed to be quite busy, but there is literally nothing out there at the moment!!
    So annoying :-(
Am panicking lots about my luteal phase now as well!!!

    Good luck Gelly!! Everytihng crossed!

A question: My cycle has been 27 days for a few cycles now. According to the CBFM I OV'd around CD20. Which I believe makes my luteal phase somewhere between 5 and 7 days.

That seems very short? Is that perhaps why we haven't bee able to get pg before now??

Help! Am I worrying for no reason? !!

I think around 9 days should be a good 'minimum' to have.

If youre worried maybe see your gp (who be warned may know nothing..) and ask for blood tests?

Some of the ladies on here have tried stuff like Agnus Castus etc I think? Someone else might have more help!

Congratulations on your marriage Emylou! :j Even if you do get PG now you'll only be about 5 months gone by the summer so you should be fine. Maybe just think about booking somewhere super relaxing, not too far away etc just in case. :) I love holidays and like to have something booked to look forward so really don't get on with only booking holidays up to 6 months in advance just in case I can't go. :o

Hope the scan goes well tomorrow Angel. :)

Choc, have you tried any of the supplements to lengthen your LP?

    Thanks Claire & Birdie

No not yet, this is only my first cycle using the CBFM so I wasn't aware I had a short LP until now! Am thinking of picking up some vit B6 and trying that though?

Of course, I might be panicking for no reason as AF might turn up a couple of days later making my LP longer but I've been pretty regular so far. Even if AF is a couple of days late then my LP is still only 8 days max.

If I could just stretch that by a couple of days that would make a difference wouldn't it?

Thank you for listening to me panicking xx

I was thinking of buying a cbfm today as everyone seems to rave about them but they are so expensive we will try properly without the monitor for a little while but I've bought some opk's and a very optimistic pregnancy test today from the pound shop so i'll try with those this month. :)

My cycle has been pretty regular 24-27 days so i'm wondering if i've been ovulating around CD11 rather than the CD17 I had thought but we'll dtd every other day from CD9, use the opk's and see what happens.

If i'm not pregnant using the cheapies we'll consider a cbfm. I would definitely be interested in getting on this trial you ladies are talking about though, do you have a link please as the one further back doesn't seem to work for me?

The link might not work any more if they've closed it Babymad? The trials do seem to get filled with applicants pretty quickly, as evidenced by the number of ladies on our one thread who've got on it. :)

I really like my CBFM BTW and it was a really good buy for me. I've never had a really convincing positive OPK and although I was pretty certain of OV it was a lot of guesswork; it's nice to be told for sure! :) It's also a lot easier for me to remember to just POAS every morning rather than hold my wee (and not drink for 3 hours- both of which are hard work for me) on the afternoons that I need to test... and then totally forgetting to POAS when I finally relieve myself! :o

Thanks Birdie. Yes, I'm sure the trial has now closed so I'll keep my eyes peeled for another one and also for some special offers on the old style monitor if they are planning on bringing out a new one.

Thanks for your thoughts on the monitor, I have heard so many positive reviews for the cbfm I'm sure it won't take too long before we invest anyway but as it's our first month of trying properly i'm hoping we won't need one!?

I've read that the opk's are best done at around 2pm (just when i'm at work after lunch when i like to have a drink!?) and to not go for approx 2-3 hours prior to testing so i can see that won't be very convenient and testing at home first thing in the morning would be far preferable! I've also heard that the results from the cheap strips can be difficult to read/unsuccessful so all things considered i'm sure we'll be getting a cbfm sooner rather than later if i'm not pregnant this cycle but at least i can try these cheap ones this month so i can feel like i'm doing something and they've not broken the bank.

Fingers crossed you'll be pregnant this month which will further convince me to part with the cash!! ;)

De lurking to say a massive congratulations to lilymay - what an amazing birthday present!!! Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months WELL DONE!!

Also I got pregnant on the first month of using the CBFM (not that Im trying to get anyones hopes up). I got mine second hand, from someone lovely on this forum. Ive lent mine to a friend in RL but I aksed that I get it back once she gets her bfp as I want it to help me get pregnant with #2. Look on ebay, its fine, the bit you pee on doesnt touch the actual unit.
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again
