How do I get medical evidence for esa

I've never received copies either btw. So you're not alone on that one. As Roger said, you shouldn't have too many problems as he can't manually propel a wheelchair. Him getting the wheelchair prescribed for him will only help.
When dd went for her WCA, the doctor who did it was of the opinion that DD wouldn't manage to self propel given her wrist and shoulder problems. She wasn't actually in the self propelling wheelchair at the time but waiting for the assessment. As it turned out, because the doc had said this, the dd was placed in support group.
Hope that sets your mind at ease a wee bit.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

This is evidence of its own.

If he cannot do a) or b) - then he is entitled to the support group.
A prescribed powerchair is hard to get, and is not given on a whim.
turning up at a tribunal is no longer going to get you dla mobility or esa there have been a few cases in recent months on B&W and in local papers where even turning up in a wheel chair did not win the day, in a wheel chair you need to prove you need it, not just you feel better not walkingIn London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0 -

He won't be wearing his false leg to go either, he hasn't been able to wear that since April 2012, he had gangrene in his foot and they had to operate to cut the infection out which still hasn't heeled yet. I'm Hoping that will go for us too.september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
march wins - dog treats0 -
As rogerblack says, turning up in a powerchair will be very much in your favour as these are not gven out willy-nilly. A manual wheelchair is a different matter, if the HCP deems that the claimant can self-propell then 0 points will be scored for that descriptor.0

I can't beleive they are making you go
but next appt ask for copies of all letters, makes any dealings with benefit agencies easier as you have the info, also you can check they are right (some of mine have discrepancies) and also more importantly it is your information and I like to see what they wrote.0 -
youre incredibly lucky if you get a written record of any consultation you get.
even the letter to my GP only ever says 'deterioration' and no details.... so less than use;ess as evidence pf any kind.
have my first appointment at a different hospital tomorrow afternoon. just hope they are more forthcoming0 -
Getting letters from local hospital or GP is very difficult in my area. My GP didnt even let me know the consultant had prescibed medication mind you neither did the consultant until mmy next appointment a couple of months later.0

I honestly thought all HA did this. I am under 3 consultants at 2 different hospitals yet get every copy of letters sent to my GP.
They state a written record (usually 2 pages) on every appt, even if routine, along with all medication changes, prognosis, future plans and how they see fit to manage my condition.
Even suggestions of gentle excercise (which is common sense) is included.
I would have thought all HA offered this as how do you know what info is being fed to your GP? Mine have had discrepancies and I have had to inform my GP of this as would have altered my repeat prescription to an uneccessary dosage for example.0 -
at my last appointment, i asked my consultant for a letter, stating all the relevant information concerning my condition.
he was very patronising, and made a big point of getting his dictaphome out, and reeling off all the information... ending with ' a co[y to the GP and the patient'
his condescending tone annoyed me, but at least i was finally getting what i wanted ... or so i thought.
a few weeks later, after receiving no letter, i went to my GP.
she looked on her computer and said they had received a letter.
all it said was 'mrs xxxx condition has deteriorated since her last consuktation'
no mention of how it had deteriorated or what it had deteriorated from.
the doctor initially refused to send me elsewhere saying i couldnt just change hospitals because it didnt 'suit my benefit purposes'
i then made an appointment with my own GP, who after hearing how patronising and deliberately unhelpful the consultant was, immediately referred me elsewhere.
ive yet to find out if it will be any easier at the new hospital.
i know i meet the criteria for high rate mobility based on my eyesight ( or lack of it!) and have for the past year.
but with a consultant that is unwilling to put this information in written form, i have no chance.
he also charges £500 to write a report for DLA, which they obviously refuse to pay.
so my claim is assessed on NO information.
because the consultant writes such vague reports to my GP, he is unable to back my claim either.
its incrediblt frustrating to know that you are entitled, but cant prove it purely because someone wont put it in writing!0 -
Wow - to give you a comparable as sensory deteriorisation.
I have hearing issues (based on a tumour that rests on my inner ear). My latest report details all hearing deterioration, how many t's, low medium and high frequency, adjustments of hearing aids.
In addition change to betahistene meds - how they wish to progress this, possible changes to medication etc.
clearly hearling loss in 1 ear has no relation to benefits, yet any loss of hearing, along with how it will now affect me (they mentioned use of phone at work etc) is all documented.
Should be standard IMO.0
