Fake £10 Note

Generalisations can be very dangerous, especially when made knowing they may cause offence. It's easy to make sneering comments about McDonald's staff, but the organisation is an incredibly efficient one and they have high levels of training. Judging a group of people by where they work rarely produces any useful analysis.
Maybe so. I admit I don't go to them that often but I've never once seen a member of staff check whether a note was fake. One reason maybe a business decision to speed up service. I don't really know.
I used to mystery shop McDonald's/KFC/Burger king and McDonald's always had the worse service by quite some way. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
you are actually breaking the law by passing it on. You should take it to a police station. If for some reason you got caught trying to pass it on, theoretically you could face prosecution. probably not what you wanted to hear.
Finally debt free, all thanks to this site and all the posters:j0 -
Last week I was in McDonald's and tried to pay by contactless card. It didn't work. The 16 year old girl told me it was because I hadn't put it in the machine. I tried to explain it was contactless but she just had a blank look on her face.
It may offend you but the staff in McDonald's tend to be very bad (and between 16-18).
That just sounds like the managers haven't bothered to train her in such subjects, I wouldn't blame her for that. I wouldn't have a clue what to do with your contactless card either, guess I'm an idiot too
As for OP, now that you know it's a fake you're stuffed basically. Annoying but you can't prove you were given it by another store and if you try and pass it on you're knowingly using counterfeit money which could get you in some real trouble.0 -

When I pay using just my Iphone (has a contactless sticker on the back) they often look amazed! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The person on the till is "at it"
They would check money in, they know you look awkward checking "your notes" in front of them so they slip a few bent tenners in and pocket the real ones.Be happy...;)0 -

Do you have any proof that this was deliberate, and not just a mistake?0 -

I did 2 years there and was a Cisco certified network associate, with 13 GCSEs at the time.
And yes, I was under 18. McDonald's staff were good in our store, recruitment was pretty strict!0 -

"Wow, had no idea it was fake". At this point, unless the police had evidence you were passing fake money on a large scale, they wouldn't bother arresting you.redsquarelady wrote: »you are actually breaking the law by passing it on.
