Fake £10 Note

Hi there not sure I am posting in the right place, yesterday I was given a fake ten pound note by a local shop (did not realise at the time, untill I tried to use it in a supermarket) can I take the note back or swap it at my bank as I realy dont want to lose £10. Any ideas

Thanks in advance

It happene to me once. (And it had come out of a Bank cash machine)

I passed it on to someone else.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Yes its not the best (or most honest) solution but you could easily pass it on. You want to pass it on to someone who doesn't really check notes that diligently e.g. A pub, or fast food restaurant.

One of those 16 year old girls who work in Mcdonalds would have no idea that the note was fake!

I would probably use it to buy something in the shop that originally gave it to you!

Absolutely no need for that. I know plenty of kids with common sense and qualifications who cant get the jobs that they want but are grafters and want to earn.

Your disdain of all 16 year olds working at McDonalds says more about you than anything else.
    Shame on you.

Last week I was in McDonald's and tried to pay by contactless card. It didn't work. The 16 year old girl told me it was because I hadn't put it in the machine. I tried to explain it was contactless but she just had a blank look on her face.

It may offend you but the staff in McDonald's tend to be very bad (and between 16-18).

Has your Supermarket got any of those automated tills? Got rid of a few dodgy £10's in my local ASDA. If the machine rejects the note then no one is any the wiser and you can try elsewhere.

Generalisations can be very dangerous, especially when made knowing they may cause offence. It's easy to make sneering comments about McDonald's staff, but the organisation is an incredibly efficient one and they have high levels of training. Judging a group of people by where they work rarely produces any useful analysis.
