Is it worse if a company applies for you to go Bankrupt?

Ok... Ok... I'm nieve. I was just assuming that Jonto has been trying to help but that being new he/she wasn't getting the tone quite right.
Perhaps I'm missing something here but is there really a need for the Spainish Inquisition?
Sorry if I've missed something obvious here.
Hi Alan - I'm not sure that there is a 'Spanish Inquisition' - I was just curious as Jonto's recent posts, on this forum, seem to err towards the critical.
If you look at the ONLY thread that Jonto has started:
You will find that Jonto attacks other posters for their apparent 'mocking' by stating that he is 'not really experienced' in financial matters - in that case he was referring to a compensation offer from a Bank.
I am just a little suspicious when the 'good' Jonto 'reappears' 8 months later, and is now a self proclaimed 'expert' on the intricacies of the 'bankruptcy' procedures.
If my suspicions are unfounded, and only Jonto can confirm or otherwise, then I will apologise for any unintended offence to said poster.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I just didn't want things to end up as they were a few days ago. I'm not wanting to attack folks I'm just asking that perhaps both sides need to watch their tone thats all... sorry. I'm a tad sensitive about keeping things all jolly on here, still feeling like it isn't... well still worried over what happened and don't want to be here if it starts again, not what I'm on here for.0 -

Rog - feel free to apologise. I posted that last year when my girlfriend was having some problems with her bank. In response to your rather intrusive (or sad, not sure which yet) questions i am not really experience in financial matters...ie the working of the Banking Code, FSA and ombudsmen. I am however experience in insolvency matters and specifically bankrutpcy.
CheersI am only going to make 40 posts, then I am off.0 -
Oooooooooook... I'll ask one more time before I just !!!!!! off. Can we PLEASE watch the tone of posts. I apprechiate you may feel put upon but that is no excuse for an adult to reply in that tone.
To save others from asking I will do so. Out of interest Jonto what is your job? I am a teacher.

Ok ok. DickS, (you don;t mind if i call you that you?
) I will answer your questions.
No - iIhave never been declared bankrupt. I would lose my job if i did.
I sell nothing, For a living I do, well bankruptcy really.
Dicks - what do you do for a living? and why do you have a problem with me posting my opinion on this forum?
Re the Judges point. Circuit judges are solicitiors basically and as you all know solicitors specialise in certain areas. Now, when in court and a case comes before them do you think a coveyancing solcitor(judge) is going to be able to make the correct decision on an insolvency case? Trust me the answer is no. So any normal person would say i am not qualified or i don;t have enough knowledge to make the correct decision and pass it to someone who does. Would a judge say this? nope, they wouldn't. They will just go ahead and make any old bizarre order.
Cheers.

Hi Jonto,
I don't mind what you call me but I can think of funnier ways to manipulate my user name.
If you "do bankruptcy" then presumably you sell a service in some form, do you work for the Insolvency Service, Insolvency Practitioner or an IVA Company?
I'm an accountant by profession and you can have as much fun at my expense as you like with that one :rotfl: but I did know exactly when and for how much we'd be declared bankrupt. I've absolutely no problem with anybody posting on here, the more the merrier, I'm just intrigued as to the depths of your knowledge; you seem strong in some areas and weak in others.
As for judges, I love em.

Why has this been reported?
Because
A) you do not need to refer to posters as Dicks as it is offensive. The tones of your posts are done in such a manner as to provoke an argument .
