    Hi there,

    Three things:

    1) for gas and electricity try to move to the Coop. Our bill went down by about £80.

    2) Do you have a water meter? This may lower your bill a bit and is certainly worth checking.

    3) your petrol consumption is very high and looking at the value of your car it may be that it is not very economical. Sometimes it is worth looking into changing the car to a more economical one. And why is car insurance so high? Surely you and partner have been driving for some time; have you really shopped around?

Good luck and don't loose hope: there is someone out there who wants you and this wonderful job is waiting around the corner. Can you start something on your own?

Hi yeah the gas and electric is very high, we are on the electric and gas meter and put £20 on each and it just gets zapped, we're both not in during the day and nothing is left on apart from what needs to be and we have gas on for 1 hour at night and 1 in the morning, we just moved to british gas as it was the cheapest when we did the comparison site.
If you're not home but also not working, where are you?

  • Have you checked your benefits entitlement? Looking at you income you could be eligible for council tax benefit and LHA, are you claiming these?

    Hi Firewalker x
    1) I will looking into my gas and electric again, I used a comparison site which told me BG was the cheapest for on meters so I went with them but then prices increased shortly after.
    2) No we arn't on meter for water it is just DD x
    3) My partner has a mitsubishi pajero 2.5 - he uses it for work every day and for also agricultural use with his family as they have lots of tractors and machinery they transport to steam fairs/shows etc and he really wants to keep his car, he is only 22 at the moment but has 4 years no claims, would have been 5 but churchill wouldn't give him his first years no claims.. I took myself off this year as it would have been £2000 rather than £1100, previous years it was cheaper with me on. I have checked all the comparison sites and on direct admiral etc that don't show up and £1100 is cheapest xx

I would really love to do something at home but I am hitting a brick wall lol xx
    Thank you for advise. x

My partner use to take my son to breakfast club as it was a fair distance for me to get him to school with the young baby, but now his sister picks us up and I drop him off at school and then we go to his old house(his parents) during the day ready for the school afternoon pick up..
Her son also goes to a school near my sons so it isn't out of her way and my partner was able to do overtime, when it was on :( plus it saved £5.50 per day for breakfast club.

So you go to your PILs house in the morning and sit there all day waiting for school to finish?
