CobraTrack 5 - does it really work?

  • ...and the OP expects to get another 25 years use out of it....

well... yeah. the mileage is around 40K. its only ever had 1 owner who was old and drove it back and forth to the shops during retirement. its a honda - hondas last, they last a very very long time both mechanically and cosmetically. it is in pristine condition with no faults, dents or mechanical issues. its had servicing done properly every single year since purchase at a honda garage.

the value of the car for me, is completely irrelevant. the fact remains that this model and year and type of car is very hard to come by and the fact that i managed to land myself with one and probably one of the very few in the whole country in this condition and this mileage, yes, i do expect it to run very well and easily for another 25 years.

so why the aggro? something might be worthless to you but you are not the only person here, and this particular car to me is priceless and irreplacable and since im going to run it for the bulk of its reliable japaneese life i just wanted peace of mind on which best security systems to get to minimise the risk of it being nicked.

seems i will never get that answer here. i`ll go elsewhere

Short trips to the shops and back are the worst type of journey for a car. Engine is always cold. So wear rate is high.

I do short journeys thats why i have just changed my oil again, Even though its only done 4000 miles.

How will spending £800 + £120 a year on a tracker prevent it getting nicked?

A thief wont know its got a tracker, And by the time you report it stolen and they find it the tracker will be a burnt out shell like the car.

They dont need to get to IT... All the need is a £20 box and a 9V battery from the £1 shop. It doesnt come with a battery because thats illegal LOL

But its not illegal to own one, Only to use it :)

Tracker /GPS / SIM card etc all blocked.. Everything within distance loses its signal. Even the cars radio.

No crawling under and over cars find wires to cut.

Buy a £40 steering lock and dont watch the video's on youtube that show you howto remove them without a key. Usually faster than you canb do it with the key.

The only people that would steel this type of car a re joyriders. Go for physical security, but tracking is a waste of money as it will either be dumped, crashed or torched within a pretty short time.
