cosmetics at car boots

hi all
was just wondering what cosmetics were like to sell at car boots. which ones sell the best as i can get branded and unbranded products for next to nothing. i was gonna do this car booting every week, im self employed anyway so will be declaring profit.
If there are any others who have experience at selling this type of products can you give an estimated figure of what you think is acheivable in a days trade at car boots.
i know it can vary from car bot to car boot but i was looking at maybe 2 for a pound or 3 for 2 pound , what is a realistic selling price which you know can work from past experience.
any help would be great
thanks michael

Personally I'd never buy cosmetics from car boot sales. Not saying that you are selling fakes but being aware that some can contain cadmium, copper, arsenic, lead and mercury I only buy from places I trust.
Sorry0 -
im not selling fakes like mac or chanel, theres too many people on ebay selling them cheap lol! im on about like rimmel and cheaper wholesale brands from trusted sources who are registered companys, if something was to happen then i have receipts and is not my liability as they should not sell the stuff to me0

The car boot I occasionally went to (and I just about gave up last year as it became a miserable way to spend my Sundays) had a few cosmetic sellers. They didn't tend to last long though as they were selling very very cheaply, as little as 50p-£1 for a non high end eye shadow, and I don't think they were doing much more than covering their pitch fees in the end. It might be different if we have a really good sumemr of course.
I also live in an area with a huge number of 99p and £1 shops, and they sell branded cosmetics, so that might also keep the prices down at my local car boots. It is not uncommon to get 2 Rimmel eye shadows for 99p.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. no no I appreciate that, but I personally wouldn't even buy those brands from a boot sale for the same reasons, I just don't know where they have come from and I wouldn't take the chance.
I'm probably in the minority though.0 -
You're not alone Pulliptears, I too would never buy cosmetics at a boot sale. I'm a regular booter and often see used and new cosmetics in baskets labelled 10p or 20p per item.
Other things I avoid are anything bath related (shampoo conditoner etc) and smellies unless I can clearly tell they are still sealed (rare).
I avoid perfumes too, invariably thinking 'fake'.

I do buy toiletries from charity shops for example, Boots sanctuary, burts bees,(oops I just originally typed burst bees-yuk), and that pink retro stuff.., and I would only buy top stuff unopened from a car boot if the buyer just had one or two items, and the rest of their stuff looked high end.But never foundation unless it was Armani or mac unopened and a 1 off.0

I agree with Soo as well to some extent, my local poundland and 99p store frequently have Rimmel, Sally Hansen etc in store cheaply so any car boot stock would have to be very cheap I imagine for people to be interested.0
