The Sub Prime Credit Thread - Part VI

Got a copy of my Equifax credit report this evening. Noticed that there isn't anything listed under the 'Property Valuation' section - I'd have expected my house to be listed here but it wasn't.
Going to phone them tomorrow to ask why it isn't showing. I guess it wouldn't do any harm to have on my file.
Another thing I spotted was.... anytime I use price comparison websites for insurance quotes, I use a false name and phone number so I'm not spammed to death. Anyhow, a few quotation searches has appeared on my file under the false name. Not sure if this will cause any problems or not.
Why they need to search my credit file I'll never know. I pay my insurance annually and it's not like they need my credit accounts information to assess my risk for car insurance....

Thanks for the thread ElkyElky, you've lured me back

And big props to you for linking to the "Who uses Who" thread Underground started - finally, no searching through 25 pages of threads to find it
I also use an alias for insurance quotes but make sure to change my DOB as well - I guess you're using the correct address and DOB, just changing your name when you get a quote?
With regard to the property value information it only shows if the property was bought in the last decade or so - has yours been owned for more than that time?
I see you got a Capital One Aspire World. Good work!
Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hey izools, long time no see!
I've always used my real DOB and address to get a more accurate quote but won't be in the future.
I bought my house a year ago. No mortgage so I have nothing on my credit report saying I'm a home owner, hence why I'd rather have the property valuation thing showing. It will show my name as being the owner since I live in Scotland, apparently it doesn't for English owners.
Only got the Aspire for the 5% initial cash back. It has reverted to 0.5% now which is a pittance so don't use it that often. Thinking of closing it and waiting until I'm a new customer for another 5%. Going to get the Aqua 3% card soon and use that until I qualify for Capital One again. We’ve had to remove your signature. How about an Amex Platinum for the cashback?
I got an Aquacard for the 3% but the limits they offer are rather tiny. The two other cards I have (Nationwide & Creation) were given to me with £4,500 limit and £3,000 limit - aqua gave me £250 lol but you can make faster payments and clear it several times a month - which I am doing.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I applied for the Amex gold charge card last week, didn't get an instant decision and haven't heard from them yet. I'm not expecting an acceptance from them to be honest. Last time I applied, I was declined.
The length of time I've lived here and had my First Direct bank account has only been a year and my total available credit is more than what my income is so they'll probably view me as over stretched.
If it's declined, I guess I could close some accounts and wait a little while.
Not at all surprised Aqua only gave you £250, stingy bas****s. :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well Barclaycard are generous... OH just got a £6,700 limit platinum with 25 months interest free despite already owing £7,770 and having a debt to limit ratio of 83%... And having a default from 2007 (satisfied).
They also approved a friend of ours for £8,200 despite him having a debt to limit ratio elsewhere of 99%! They obviously seem to prefer applicants who are maxed out I guess...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Is it not that your credit file with Equifax doesn't show your defaults?0 -

Lol, yeah my EQ file is (incorrectly) fine. Well, it is when BT aren't trying to screw it up!
This was my OH's credit card application, who has a default from O2 still on there, but it is very old, due to drop off in May. Guess they didn't care as it's so old

Nice limit increase! Interest free purchases or BT?
I don't think debt to limit ratios are as important as some people believe. Perhaps it has some weight on how a lender scores their customers but not necessarily a make-or-break factor. We’ve had to remove your signature.
