If its an fpn it's probably better to pay it, I think you can do something informally pleading to cancel it, but it probably won't work. If you decided to go to the magistrates court you'd need a cast iron defence. It could increase the fine hugely, that is why most people on here and pepipoo advise to cough up.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Thanks. That's what I'm finding from looking through other threads. So annoying. The other side of the road has parking too but no restrictions there. It's not that busy of a street so I'm not sure why it has restrictions. Ho hum. Lesson learned!*Insert interesting words here*0

I have yet to see a police PCN that has been valid.
doe xactly as they say in the order they say.
You will also need photographs of this parking space, the road and sign all nice and wide.
I've yet to see a police PCN full stop. The police do not issue PCN's.
With respect, you shouldn't really give advice unless you know what you are talking about.:DPLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

They wrote on the front top "45 minute parking restriction" - so I assume they are used to people not knowing what they're being ticketed for! I then looked all around thoroughly and couldn't see a sign. I eventually spotted one further down the street but from where my car was it was side on and you couldn't see what it was at all. I had to walk several car lengths down for it to be visible.
If it matters, I was parked in the last space of the long bay.MrsWassire wrote: »A block further down the street there is no parking restriction, and I looked all around for a sign. Not sure what else I should have done? Should I always walk the full length of a street just in case there are signs I've missed? The [/B]sign is at least 100ft from where I was parked, according to Google Maps.
Very long cars then.0 -
There were about 6 cars, but spaces between several of them, before I could see the sign.*Insert interesting words here*0

The PCSO do in many areas issue PCN, they are headed as the relevant police department heading on the PCN.
Not all areas operate the traffic management act system .
They are several variations and acts in force dependant on force area.
Any more questions ?Be happy...;)0 -

The OP is after advice from people on here, I don't think you should be lecturing her on what should have been done. We know now what should have been done given hindsight. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

And my advice is - You didn't check the times on the bay. Your fault. You pay.
She is asking how to get out of paying something she owes.0 -

This is a money saving forum, we offer advice on how to do that. Saying tough luck pay is not advice! There could be many things wrong with signs, the penalty charge, the tro or a number of other things. I would suggest that you try to garner what the ethos of this site is about as you don't appear to know. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. No, if the area is controlled by a de-criminalised parking regime, PCNs are issued by CEOs for parking contraventions. Police and PCSOs do not deal with parking matters in those areas.
If, as in the OP's case, parking has not been de-criminalised, PCSOs and Police issue FPNs for parking offences.
It is one or the other, it can't be a combination.0
