Eccount has anyone got any reviews?

Yes I know they charge but these are the only options left.
I need something to have salary/benefits paid into. Doesn't need to do direct debits or standing orders.
I just wondered if anyone had/is using them?
I have tried looking for reviews but can't find any. Or does anyone have any experience with a similar type of account?
Thank you

The AA prepaid card accepts salary payments according to the website
http://www.theaa.com/prepaid-card/faqs.html#Howtotopupyourcard
That avoids the £12.50 opening and £12.50 monthly fee . the ATM fee is £1.50 for the AA card or 50p at eccount
I do have an AA prepaid card , it is not used for salary credits and is not used much - I have used it in the COOP and for online payments
The eccount website doesn't mention the UK Financial Ombudsman for unresolved complaints and mentions the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission for these matters
There are recent posts on this forum about the Freedom prepaid card failing to credit "top ups" to the account and they have been directed to the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission

I agree with the foregoing, to just have something to pay wages/benefits into a prepaid credit card is what you need. But beware ATM charges which can be expensive.
Solely for benefits, if your applications for a basic bank account are getting rejected ask at your benefit provider, i.e. Jobcentre Plus, about the Post Office Card Account.
If you're going the eccount route probably Secure Trust Bank will be better for you because your money in the current account pot will be protected by the FSCS.0 -
The chargeable option is not the only option left.
What utter rubbish.
Why not go to your local building society and open a basic savings account where you can have your Money paid in.
People really do not thinkFor everthing else there's mastercard.

Come clean, just what is your connection with Secure Trust?
Ok I'll come clean: I have mentioned in a few previous posts that I have two bank accounts but only one is noted in my signature. My second account is a Secure Trust Bank Current Account. A close relative of mine has also has a STB account exclusively. Other than that no connection whatsoever. If it were not for the need to rebuild my credit I would not have the Santander account: It was not by choice that I bank with them: They took over my bank so I bank with them essentially by force.
I just think that so many people, mainly those on a low income trying to balance their finances, paying bank charges month after month could do better. But if you look through my posts you'll see that I don't only recommend STB.0 -

OK, I didn't undertake a detailed investigation of your posting history, it was just noticeable that the only prepaid card you'd mentioned this week was Secure Trust.0 -
Why on earth do people pay when they could get it free with a simple accountFor everthing else there's mastercard.

Maybe it's because in paying for the account people are actually paying less than they would do with a simple mainstream account. Or maybe it's because STB has the sexiest telephone support team in the biz. Hey they can phone me any time they want0 -
Do a minimal amount of management on your mainstream account, you won't be paying anything at all.0
