Debenhams massive update 7000 items 70% off and codes

I ordered a load of home stuff in the last debenhams Friday night fiasco along with many others on here. Same crappy service - took orders -tied up the funds -then the dreaded unable to fulfill email followed by a soft apology from them assuring my card had not been charged, only to find the transaction on my account and funds not credited back for five days !!!!!! emailed cs with a copy of said email and got another standard apology email:mad: Not good enough for me - cs is rubbish -website is never up to date and they seem to be constantly mucking up !!! I'm out - plenty other suppliers sell the same goods as them and provide better service. Hope at least some people on here get what they ordered.

One of the toys is cheaper on Play.com even with the so called discount so do shop around.

Ordered 4 clothes items and 3 have been sent with the last showing as "pending"

An item which was telling me yesterday "not available in quantity you want to order " (1) is still showing as in stock though!

The option to select the 70% discount etc seems to be back.

I bought these a few weeks ago (when they had 70% off) and it took longer than usual to get the dispatched email x

I got 16 of my 19 items today, 1 item has been cancelled and the other 2 are due tomorrow. Very pleased so far !

Around Xmas time I bought some Lancome goods from Debenhams which was advertised as buy 2 lancome goods and get 1 free gift, buy 3 lancome goods and get 2 free gifts. So being a greedy so and so I bought 3 things to get the 2 free gifts.

This was from their online website, when I placed the order everything was in stock.

Then I received my parcel and one of the free gifts was missing, when I went to query it I only found an email address not a phone number which was exasperating, it told me I was being held at arms length if a company only accepts emails and not live customer support phone calls. After much effort & diligent googling I found a phone number.

Their explanation was it was out of stock and subject to availability.

Thats fine by me EXCEPT as i pointed out to them if the free gifts had gone out of stock then the website should have been updated to reflect this IMMEDIATELY.

Encouraging people to buy goods with the lure of a free gift, which they know dam well is out of stock, or of a low stock, or at the very least not updating the website is, in my opinion, dodgy and fraudulent .

If an item is sold out it normally shows online as out of stock, so they therefore have the technology if they so wanted to show customers when the free gift is out of stock too, this would let customers decide whether they wanted to buy so many products in the first place, Im not the only person who shops and buys products with a free gift supplied at Xmas, as they can all be passed on as extra gifts. Debenhams had no excuse.

I told them I would be reporting them to trading standards and guess what? after the customer support person went off and had a word with their manager, she came back and announced that gee the free item was now back in stock and they would dispatch one to me.....how convenient.

It didnt arrive, so I chased them up and they promised me another one........

that also didnt arrive.........

I just kept on emailing them and didnt give up and finally they sent me my missing free gift, I think eventually to shut me up .....

I do feel a twinge of guilt over being so relentless but I was really disappointed, the 1st free gift was a lancome make up bag with 5 very generous travel sized samples , and the missing item which eventually turned up was a bifacil make up removeer 125ml .....

Despite the fact they eventually fulfilled the free gifts quota, the slapshod service , cokk ups and general couldnt care less attitude of the company on my first ever order put me off buying from Debenhams forever.

I think some of these posts should be over on the praise vents and warnings board. Everytime I see a new post I think the sale has been updated!
