have not used four square before but have downloaded the app and have some questions.

1.
had 3 amex cards reg'd for the shop small promo in november, when i try and synch these cards to four square it says this;
"Your account is already synced so you can start exploring and unlocking exclusive Cardmember specials on Foursquare! To contact customer service, please call the number on the back of your Card." can i use multiple cards like the shop small deal?

2.
do you get an email confirmation after using the card successfully?

3.
can a link to the main 4square thread be posted as i have searched and cannot find, thanks.

1. you can only use one amex card per account.
2. You get notification to your foursquare app, when you have used the card successfully
3. can't help you there I'm afraid

I never get emails but always get credited within 4 days, usually after 2

I have tried to use foursquare and only once been paid. each time I have to ring Amex and explain, they check I used my card in the right place at the right time etc and as a gesture of goodwill give me the money. Four square tell Amex, my card Is not registered, try to register but get message already registered, foursquare eventually say talk to Amex as they need to reregister, Amex say they cannot do it. Foursquare are really difficult to get response from, I just wish I could talk to someone rather than numerous emails to Foursquare who respond with telephone numbers for Amex that aren't registered, information that isn't true, and basically blaming Amex. I think it is much more hassle than it is worth unless you would have bought anyway and so it is no big deal if dont get the cashback.

Also just realised that if you have push notifications enabled for foursquare, you get a notification minutes after using your Amex, e.g. saying congrats you just saved £15 at Shell - this didn't used to happen but I may have had them disabled before. Would prefer it if these acknowledgements were emailed too as they email me other irrelevant stuff like "you just unlocked the adventurer badge". So far 100% payment rate though with or without notification so no complaints and more money for nothing

This is just discrimination against people with non-smart phones.

So what I need is a girl friend with a smart phone, get her to download the app, and register my Amex? But this just mean that I will be paying for her shopping on my Amex, which is a MoneyLOSINGexpert.com idea.

Its not as though smart phones are hugely expensive these days. You can get some low end smart phones very cheaply now days.

Smart phones are the instruments of the devil.

The apps are secretly ramping up overseas roaming data charges even when you disable updates, and then Apple apologises , and then it happens again, and they don't pay compensation.

You waste hours dealing with update upon update, inane tweets, adverts, "social" activities and annoy people on the tube with your podcasts.

And then you lose it, and somebody has your life in one neat package, and god knows what they will do. Your mobile number is registered with lots of services, which sends a verification text like "Are you sure you want to send your money to this account, type this code in."

I can afford a smart phone, I just don't want to.

checked into Shell, loaded the offer then spent £50 on fuel last night. How long does it usually take for the offer to come through onto the card? I haven't received a notification onto my four square account.

I doubt they will sell other giftcards then their own deparment gift cards. If they do then it will be like saying oh here you take the 'amazon' gift cards from us and buy the same thing we sell for almost half the price!!!! :mad: (though I'm sure they do make some commision in selling other traders gift cards too, but that would be much smaller margin than letting their customer buy things elsewhere)

But anyway if someone knows for sure that they sell other traders giftcard, then I would rather buy those!!!
