As I posted in the opposed thread

What a pain----I don't usually end date but if you save any comps in your favourites to enter later - there is no way of knowing the closing date without opening each one unless you change the title as you save it.

The new End Date still shows in title, just that it's at the bottom.
You can still sort by thread title, ascending, that hasn't changed.
    What's the problem?
In my post in THIS thread, I have suggested that the new date could be made more noticeable but apart from that I think this could be an improvement. I comp by latest posted and sort by Thread Start Time, Descending

Yes but the button doesn't really work. Also, you may be able to sort by title, ascending etc, BUT if there's no end date in the title, that's only going to be sorting prizes etc with random end dates. It may be OK for you, as you said you are not an end date comper. but it affects all of us EDC's hugely.

The button works OK for me as long as I make sure that the Blue Arrow is pointing downwards. If you click and the Blue Arrow is pointing up, then the oldest dates appear at the top of the board. If you then click directly on the Blue Arrow, it reverses the order and today's date appears at the top of the board. Of course this will not fully work OK until all threads have the date box correctly filled with a valid date. If all threads had the date then all the ones with today's date set will appear at the top of the board, in ascending order of date and time posted, followed by each subsequent day, which wouldn't be the case with the old date as so many dates were formatted incorrectly. I would have thought that nothing could be better for people who comp by end date.
It will just take a little time to get to the situation where dates are entered on all threads and it will be essential for the "not known" option to be removed. Add to this a larger font and dark blue colour for the date to make it more noticeable, then it will be brilliant. (In my opinion).
Shortly before 12PM, I did sort the board using the button and in less than 15 minutes, I checked through 484 threads showing a date of 31-01-2013 to make sure that each one had either a Red cross or a Green tick

Trying to remain calm, I think it will be beneficial when it swaps over - as long as people link weekly and daily competitions in the right thread. I still see no reason why we should take the date out of the title though, just a forced usage of the extra calander input would have sufficed.
    Wishing you all good luck!

If y'all decide to start a comping group somewhere, please don't forget to invite me. I always find out things much later in the day. I'm worried I'll come on MSE only to find all the regulars gone

I'm an ex Loquat and end date comper and it was quite daunting with all the comps on a forum but after 10-15 mins I worked it out and was finding it pretty straightforward.
Now I'm back to being confused and thinking I'm going to miss quite a few comps.

If the main people who post comps aren't happy about it, then it is a crazy decision and I'm against it, without them who knows what will happen and I don't really want to have to find another comping site, when I THOUGHT this won was ideal :(

I'm not too keen on the new end date thing. I only use the email subscription so I don't search by end date on the forum, but now all the comps just blend in with the topics in the Compers Chat and IWIWIW so it's taking a little bit longer.

OK, A poll - this is for the reinstatement (unblocking) of posting the end date in the title. Let's see how people feel about that:
