I'll start with moving to GO and then work on adding end dates to any titles that haven't got one but that's going to be hard now the new end dates have gone altogether, especially as I don't enter many
so it would help if you enter a comp on a thread that has no end date in the title you could post it on the thread for me, I know that will bump a few threads but it will help me get the board back to normal quicker :)

Bloddy marvellous thank you Glad xx :T:T
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

[STRIKE]I can;t get the end date to show on mine? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4423957[/STRIKE] Ok managed it now just had to add an extra space after the E: 05/03 that i'd already put in before the ban was removed.

    Thank you MSE!

Glad to know our voices are being listened to.
  • I am not even an end date comper usually but I sincerely hope (for now anyway) that the "E" being brought back is permanent rather than just temporary until you work out something else. The forum reads so much better.

It did appear rather like MSE were listening to people who were only asking for things because they hadn't read the comping guide, weren't great with computers or hadn't enlisted the help of the hundreds of friendly compers here to work out an efficient way to comp. It seemed like you had acted on these requests then (temporarily) ignored the people that had read the comping guide and were quietly and efficiently getting on with it that were now grossly inconvenienced and having to speak out!

The standard features that come with forum software such as this one and a naming convention works as well as can be really, no need to over-engineer it :D

Should have thought it through properly in the first place.
There is a thing called Youtube which you can put videos up online onto, this is where a MSE channel explaining how the forum works would make sense..people learn much faster when they can see it done than by words alone. It would take away the need for basic things to be asked and answered over and over and still not understood. Videos can be embedded into stickies and that's all anyone would ever need.
You could even ask us to make some and pick the ones that people found easiest to understand for it. So no work. Unlike the mess we just had...which is lots of work all round.
