All fair enough, but as the OP said he would pay, I presume he has done so.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

That's the question that we should have asked early on. And if the RFL was sent to the correct address, then why not the letters? That needs clarifying to tidy things up.
So, OP
1. Was RFL sent to you at the correct address in June/July?
2. Did you move house between June and October?
3. If so, did you inform them and were the letters sent to the June address?
If the DVLA sent the RFL to the right address and the letters to a different previous address, don't pay and go to court. You should then be able to show incompetence on their part and have the fine/penalty quashed.
Yep, too many things need tidying up but I went with what was posted.
ICI allege that letters from the DVLA had been sentAs you have ignored all previous letters, the DVLA is currently preparing a claim against you as the registered keeper of an unlicensed vehicle.
The OP received the disc & the last letter (3 months later) informing that the cheque had been returned but not the ones in between? Sadly I don't think we will ever know the real story.
Remember that Incompetence & the DVLA are a bit like Morecambe & Wise.... you can't have one without the otherAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

Let's just be clear, I have no prerogative to post knowingly incorrect/untrue information here, it would only work against my favour.
The renewal notice (RFL?) was sent to my previous address, as I had moved in the New Year. When I sent off for my tax disc, I also updated my records with the DVLA with my new address. The returned cheque was posted to my new address so I can categorically say that the DVLA know where I live and that my records with them are up to date.
It is still a mystery as to why a fine/penalty from the DVLA did not materialise, they clearly think I am psychic. However, I have paid the fine because I really don't want a court battle on my plate at the moment.
It is also a mystery why the letter from the DCA says I've ignored all previous letters; I'm not in the habit of ignoring any post. When I questioned them about this they said they had sent it to my previous address..... this struck me as moronic as they clearly know it's my PREVIOUS address. SIGH SIGH SIGH.
Thanks for all your help guys and dolls :money:

You definitely need to take legal action based upon their incompetence, eminently demonstrable.0

They are lying ********. Initially they said they could see 2 payments on my account, now they are saying just one so I have to send them my bank statement to get a refund!!!

Invoice them for your costs and time in doing so. Also mention that you hold them responsible for any bank charges that might occur due to their error and delay in refunding. I usually charge £15 for each letter and £10 for each phone call. All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
If they dont refund you then you should contact your back to dispute itFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Do not send your bank statement! Despite the assurances of some, this has all the hallmarks of a scam.
- You have received a request for money from an unknown company, supposedly acting on behalf of a known authority.
- You actually have no evidence that DVLA is involved
- The unknown company has taken money, and is now looking for identity documents.
Contact your bank to dispute the additional charge. How did you actually pay?
Contact DVLA to confirm that this company is acting on their behalf, and that DVLA have charge you the £80.0 -
Update: they have refunded the £80 double payment
Let's hope this is the last I ever hear from them!0
