Furniture ordered didn't state was flat packed or veneered?

I ordered a small tv unit from an online furniture company. It was £161 and said was made from oak, ash and elm. Nowhere did it say it was veneered or flat packed... After I got it and put it together (it took almost a month plus a lot of chasing to get it) I was so unhappy I contacted them regarding the quality and what was said ... Or more importantly not said about the quality. They replied if it was untouched they'd take it back... Too late! They have now said I could have asked them if it was flat packed... I think it should clearly state that it wasn't wood or needed putting together... Help??

When did you receive it?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Give us a link to the website, and then we can see if it was described properly.0

Did it not mention anywhere on the advert that it was a veneer?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Flat pack shouldn't be a problem as most are, the veneer should however be clearly stated, if you buy oak you should receive oak. We need to know when you received it though to see if you have DSR rights or not.0

~Personally I think the price would be a give away that it wouldn't be solid wood.
However, that said, It should have been stated in the description.July Win: Nokia 58000 -

Personally I don't see a problem with something being flat packed whether or not is it advertised as such. You're still getting the product that you paid for. If it is that important to you and it doesn't mention either way then ask before you buy.
As for the veneered part then it depends what they said. "Solid wood" should deffo NOT be a veneered product. However if they didn't mention either way then... Again you should really ask if it s so important!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. I'm confused as to why you'd take the time to put it together, surely once you opened the box you'd have seen it was veneer and not solid wood?!xxx Nikki xxx0
