O/SDaily Wednesday 30th January

Options
O/S Daily Wednesday 30th 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning all wet 'n'windy still in North Kent,I'm out to lunch today with DGD but I want to get the ironing done this morning after the school run.
I am getting the spring cleaning urge and keep seeing dust everywhere (not suprising as my builder only finished last week)So I am going to start that after the ironing is polished off AND put away.I never mind ironing ,but hate putting the stuff away for some reason :)
Hope everyone has a good day, nearly February chums so spring isn't far off
Cheers JackieO xxx

    Morning all

Well, that's it, the house is up for sale! I really do need to stop procrastinating all the time and get on with things as I feel so much better when I make a decision and do something about it! Decided the house is far too big now (just me and DD) and would like to be a little less rural.

Went to the cinema to see The Impossible, powerful stuff. Ewan MacGregor looked quite trim though!

Wet and windy here again, been up for ages as too much going round my little brain, have put the chicken carcass in the SC, boiled some eggs for lunches and cooked myself a breakfast (unheard of) but I didn't have any tea last night so that's probably why I was so hungry.

Have a good day all. Take care. XX

    Morning everyone

Monnogran - good to hear from you.

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Now getting light here this morning, still wet windy and mild.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was pork chops, new pots, cauli, carrots, broccolli, peas and gravy - had several bits of veg that needed using up! Remembered to get the chicken out to defrost - so tonight we will have roast chicken - may do just roast pots and a couple of veg with it.

Work yesterday was quite busy again - seems to be a lot going on - only have to work until lunchtime today - have all the normal stuff and flylady to be getting stuck in to after work - so will do my best.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning everyone :D

Blowing a hoolie here interspersed with plenty of rain :( on the plus side its warmer.

I need to get some batteries for Wii remote as for the first time ever we don't have any spare. A friend is popping round too for a quick catch up.
Rest of the day will include dog walking and housework. BM has just been put on for the first time in a week :o

Not sure what's exactly for tea but it will probably include turkey mince.

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Camelot good luck with the house sale. I'd love more rural but think yours is a bit far for H to commute ;)

    Morning all,

Camelot good luck with the house, I would love more rural as well.

Still no sign of my CRB, maybe it will come in the lunchtime post.
Things are pretty tough for us at the moment but I'm trying to stay positive.
Dh has a busy day today. I have an eBay parcel to post and need to list a fridge freezer on eBay for mil. My ds2 has an interview next week so fingers crossed. The plan was to live at home until he gets sorted with a job but being as he has spent one night with us since his return I can see him moving in with his girl before long.
Looking at all the debt management options at the moment and reading the debt free boards, I know we are going to come out of the other side one way or another but hate how I feel at the moment.
Not sleeping very well either which doesn't help.
I may not post so often, don't feel like I've got anything positive to say and don't want to drag anyone else down:(
Diva is in my thoughts as well x

    Morning:wave:,
Bright & breezy today.Dog walked, the field is veeerry soggy now the snow has melted. We havent had our neighbour and dog for company as her disabled son is having an op and she is staying at the hospital. Her dog is in kennels but I am going in to look after the cat twice a day,so that's done and he is out now hunting for mice :D

Camelot-good luck with your house sale, and Bitsy hope the viewings pick up soon.We are gearing ourselves up to put ours back on the market in a month or 2.I do know you have to take everything the viewers say with a pinch of salt ;) I used to wear myself to a frazzle making it look like a showhome but my pride won't let me do anything less :D so I've enjoyed the last few months of it being off the market.I need to have a good tidy today though,my friend is coming tomorrow.

Toulouse saus casserole tonight, not sure if DS2 will be here,he doesn't tend to sleep here during the week either now Julie, but he and GF descend on us on Friday nights for the weekend-it's just easier when DGD is staying over.

He went to the walk in centre first thing yesterday as his knee has ballooned & is hot .The doc thought it was cartilage and said he'll need a camera to look round,so to ring the gp & tell him she said he needs an emergency appt as he'd been there. They don't have one till tomorrow:mad: & he's really struggling with work & the pain.DH is worried now cos if he needs an op he'll be without him for a few weeks, and they just heard they've got an extension to do,starting asap:eek:

Toni I'm sure the puff pastry will be absolutely fine to make the saus rolls today.I would think they'd last a couple of days in the fridge, but once cooked and cooled quickly they would be ok frozen if you have too many.

Right, better get on with this tidying, won't do itself unfortunately.A lot of it is paperwork,it just finds little corners to hide itself into:rotfl:

Can't believe its 2 years since Diva died, bless her x

    Morning All,
Had Dad's review Monday, thought it was fine then DD got a call yesterday sying the NHS won't pay for him as he hasn't got dementia! He qualifies on all the other medical needs (he's on oxygen 24/7) and other things, but apparently they have changed the rules. So we have had to get on to Social Services now, which I didn't want. DD is taking it over now and waiting for them to get in touch.:o

Fasting day today. Strawberry & banana smoothie for breakfast and prawn and avocado for dinner.

Weight this morning was 11 stone 6lb! Another 2lb lost:T That's 10lb in a few weeks! This AF eating plan is great. I don't feel hungry and only have to do it twice a week. When I reach my goal I can cut it to one day a week.

Waiting for the postman now so then I can go out.

    Have a good day all.

morning all, huge hugs all round to everyone!!!

havent had chance to post as been working but off yesterday and spent afternoon bulk cooking to freeze, I made

beef casserole in sc and froze in 2 portions, added pots to it so its complete meal
    chicken tikka
    lasagne
    hot pot

and made big pot of corned beef hash which i turned into a pie and some pasties
and sausage pie (i whizzed up some of those sausage squares with carrots, pots and onions) and some square pastie sort of things

so just the cleaning to tackle now!!!
