Just need a rant!!

No need for replies or sympathy I just need to vent!!

So
Early 2010 I get diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
Summer 2010 son has a serious car accident, nearly loses his hand but owing to good health care (NHS) only loses a finger
Autumn 2010 wife has a nervous breakdown from the stress of the above
Early 2011 a suspicious mole spotted on my chest
Late 2011 an operation to remove a large malignant melanoma, wound got infected so off work for a long period
Mid 2012 attention goes to my Lymph glands that have become swollen
Late 2012 6 hour operation to remove all the lymph glands in my left armpit, 8 found to contain malignant cells and a suspicion they did not get all the cancer so treatment ongoing
Now, I have cellulitis affecting my operation scars and surrounding area and the wife has just been admitted to hospital following a very severe asthma attack!

Is it ever going to end!!

Fortunately, in some ways, we do have some good friends spread around the world that keep us in one piece
(there were more but that's another story not for publication)

With the wife it really hurts and with her when I'm ill, we've been together 33 years and married for 27 so are not complete without each other.
Our son is an impressive guy who, I think, totally believes in us so we're maybe a rarity, a happy family

And a perfect example of crap things happening to good folk. I hope 2013 takes a few positive turns for you. :)

More sympathy from me too. It's a blessing you have a close knit family. Hope you are back to 'normal' soon.

It can be like that at times and it is entirely reasonable to want to let off steam about it. At worrying times I see people say on here things they do not want to say at home but need to express. MSE posters are generally an understanding as well as practical section of society.

My very best wishes for your wife's recovery from her acute episode and for your ongoing treatment.
  • Yep - never rains but it pours and any other number of trite platitudes but you sound like a strong family, there for each other no matter what (a rarity, as you say). Such a litany of events would have sunk a weaker person, we are here for you so rant on as much as you like.:D
