There was a Polski Sklep in one of the grim towns down the road from us which had a sign in the window stating "No English".

I wonder if perhaps it meant they didnt speak English but apparently someone didnt want to give them the benefit of the doubt and eventually threw a brick through their window.

Given the poles I know, having lived next to a few, I can't imagine that they were discriminating against potential customers. Poles generally have a pretty positive attitude to work and success; they wouldn't turn down your money if they can help it.
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...

Fair enough, I accept your comments. However, Muslim countries do generally force women to cover up and alcohol is forbidden etc. It is often a repressive regime and they do seem to have intolerant leaders. If they are considering areas in London to be Muslim then are they trying to enforce their culture on these areas? Or are these just lies made up to discriminate against them? I don't know as I haven't been to these areas and can only go on what is reported in the media.

These are the people that they're talking about.

Yep, it's not representative of the community as a whole I'm sure. But it does go on, I think it is the point. The police do seem to have dealt with them though.

In answer to various points made, the reference to tribal instincts and the comfort zone of our own kind clearly applies to all races and nationalities to varying degrees. This is the reason that we have large, semi-closed communities of ethnic groups and nationalities other than ethnic white British. They understandably feel the same way, it's in our DNA.

"Our own kind" means people sharing similar cultural background, shared history and values as ourselves. I believe this also applies to all ethnic groups and nationalities.

The point about how groups like the Jews became absorbed over time is fair. However the 'over time' is the key factor. It takes time, and successive generations, of both or all sides, will progressively feel less discomfort. The problem is in the UK that we have had waves of mass immigration over a very short time and the adjustment process is far from complete.

Regarding idiotic groups of young Muslims in east London abusing "infidels", of course we have our groups of comparable morons among ethnic white British, like for example those willing to commit acts of violence and vandalism based on which football team various people support. The problem with the Muslims is the perception, whether or not true, that due to political correctness it is more likely to be tolerated from them. One wonders what would happen if gangs of ethnic white British young males went out taunting Muslim women and girls about their dress code and suggesting that they "get 'em off" there and then ? Six Black Marias and the riot squad arriving within minutes perhaps ?

Mass immigration over a short period is a mistake. Multiculturalism is a mistake. Positive discrimination is a mistake. None of it helps anyone to live a harmonious existence -- not the immigrants and not the endemic population.
No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

How do you know they are Muslim do you ask the children?

Islam is a race not a religion.

Also talking to secondary school kids who are educated in Inner London they do have White classmates - they just happened to be Eastern European.

I think you got that the wrong way around.

Islam is most definitely a religion not a race. There are white Muslims, black Muslims, Indian Muslims, Oriental Muslims etc. All very different races that share the same religion.

    I.....

    ....

There are plenty of white British people with whom I share little cultural background, history (whatever that means), and values. I have met many from other ethnic backgrounds with whom I share much more.

Would you feel more "at home" with an ignorant, bigotted, white person with a history and attitudes that go back to the Stone Age or an educated intelligent East African Sikh say?

The answer is obvious for me, perhaps for you its different.

Those videos were made by a couple of nobheads. The East London Mosque was swift in its condemnation of their actions:

"Individuals claiming to be self-styled 'Muslim patrols' have been harassing members of the public on the streets of east London late at night, including outside our mosque after it has closed.

"These actions are utterly unacceptable and clearly designed to stoke tensions and sow discord. We wholly condemn them.

"The actions of this tiny minority have no place in our faith nor on our streets."
