Actually, I lie. I signed in to my online account and they class unlimited texts on the billing system as 10,000,000 texts (ten MILLION).

That's 322,580 texts a day, or 13,441 texts an hour, or to break it down even more it's 3 and a half texts a second. So to use my allowance up I'd have to send over 3 texts every second of every hour of the day constantly 24/7.

However, it's not unlimited. I'm OUTRAGED!! I was told it would be unlimited!! I'm going to OFCOM and trading standards!!

    Get real.

Surely it's the customers responsibility to ask if there is a fair use policy? If the don't ask and breach it, it is their problem.

You clearly didn't or you would have known the 10,000,000 limit without having to look it up. ;)

As I only send 100 - 200 texts a month a FUP is hardly going to affect me is it?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I have a Vodafone contract on iPhone 4 which include unlimited texts.

I received my bill a couple of months ago and found it was in excess of 3 times my bill cost. After many phone calls, many explanations, i was told i'd "gone over my text limit" of 3000 texts.

I checked the paperwork i got with the contract and all that said was it was to do with fair usage policy. When i searched this on google it said nothing. It took me having to search "Vodafone, 3000 texts fair usage" to actually find the page where it explained it.

On said page it stated that i would get a text when i was nearing the limit which i never received. This was palmed off by the staff by saying "Well you have the app to check".. But i don't have time to check my app all the time, and it never said that on the page but it stated that "you WILL receive a text..."

Is selling it as "Unlimited" false advertisement?

    Thanks
