My s2 says i have full signal, it also shows that i have a data network signal with the up and down arrows and the H in the corner to show its uploading and downloading information. But when i go to ring out, it cuts me off straight away saying "call ended". When i go to text it says texts failed, when i send a message on facebook messenger it says sending then a few minutes later tells me it fails and when i go on the internet it says no connection.

If i turn my phone off and back on again, i can load up one web page, before it disconnects me again. It also lets me ring one person or text them, before it messes up again. It started doing it last week... worked fine over the weekend, and has started again today. I cant find anything online about anyone with exactly the same "symptons". Anyone know what this is???

Have you tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in? Sounds simple but it might help.

I would also try the SIM in another phone to see if the problem still occurs. It is a quick way to establish if the phone is causing the issue or ir the SIM is.

A more drastic step would be to backup all your data and factory reset in case the firmware has gone a bit flakey .

ye did that yesterday, didnt work :( rang orange last night and they reset my sim, but that hasnt worked either. just put my sim in my old htc and it works in that. So definately not the sim. Has no one got any ideas? Its annoying, the guy on the phone at orange said i can take it into shop and get it fixed or replaced for free, but im guessin because i bought it through a company online and not through them that they will not do that although the guy said any phone they will replace if its within the 24month contract period (ive had mine for about a year)... not sure if this is true though

I can't see that they'll replace the phone if you didn't get it from them in the first place. They might be able to arrange a repair - at your expense.

Just a quick thought, have you checked that your APN hasn' t changed somehow .. check Settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>access point names make sure it matches the setting on your working HTC ??

Failing that, you could take a look on this forum http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/index3.html I've found them helpful in the past.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
  • I have the same problem, sent my phone off to be fixed couldnt be fixed so now have a phone I cant use, I am with tescos, they said because I am on 24 month contract they cant do anything, what do I do? because its over 12 months now. Contacted Samsung they were more helpful, but I have done anymore because Its over a year old..... what do I do? should I cancel contract I will have to pay to cancel early

I'm not quite sure what you mean there? Samsung normally give a 24 month warranty, will they not repair it under that?

ye as stated above, when i rang samsung they said 24month warranty. They sad its something to do with my phone trying to recieve 2g and 3g at same time? and your meant to turn internet off when making phone calls, which must be bull. But they said i can send it off and they will repair it for free, but im just worried its going to be fine when they get it and then ill end up with a brick lol

just as an update incase anyone has this problem in the future, orange have admitted that i have 2 3g masts near me, and one of them is broken, causing the signals to get mixed up. I have had to turn my 3g off, and my phone works now, but means i can only get 2g. When i asked how long it will be until i can use 3g again they had little knowledge of the situation, and just said ill have to just try it every so often... not exactly the best service, but i suppose atleast it's not my phone broke
