  • Good morning everyone :)

Off work today as have pre-op appointment so treated myself to a read in bed.

Tru, I am loving the crochet! The heart and the owl are so sweet and I like that buttoned scarf. I may make one of those with a toggle fastening.

nmlc, I think Monnogran was here yesterday but check the thread in case I am getting my days confused.

Prawn curry for dinner with little tiny prawns. I always thought I liked the expensive king prawns but have decided the little ones are more flavoursome for curries etc.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all!
Am impatiently waiting for DS's new bed to arrive, we are apparently first delivery but still not here, and I have an appointment with the solicitor this morning!
DD and boyfriend booked their holiday last night, they are off to Florida and managed to negotiate a nice wee discount on their holiday and theme park tickets having priced it everywhere on-line!
Oh well, off to supervise the furniture dismantling, it seems the cat wants a shot of the allan keys too!

    Morning all,

went to bed late last night therefore i woke up late too. The dogs didnt get me up at stupid o'clock to be let out either which was a bonus.

Another day of counting my blessings ahead of me. Ive got a lot to be thankful for.

    Jobs for today:

[STRIKE]Post Office to drop off some parcels[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Prepare, chop and freeze veggies in the fridge before they go soft[/STRIKE]
    Bathroom
    [STRIKE]Clean the cooker[/STRIKE]
Tea ..... Something with chips my son as asked for so i'll probably do a pie with it and use some of the veggies i will be cutting up today.

Oh and its hubbys last day at work Friday.... he's walked out of another job.:(

Tru, love the scarf you made. It looks lovely and warm which reminds me... i need to look on Etsy.

    Have a good day all.

The scarf is no more :D It was the first thing I made, just for practice. It was made out of carpet wool and incredibly stiff and itchy. The wool has been wound into a ball and put in the greenhouse, where it'll be used to tie up tomato plants :D

    Morning All
DH just had a row with one of the receptionists. I phoned for the Emergency blood test and they can't give me an appointment for four weeks  so DH had a hissy fit and phoned them back and told them to have the form ready and he will pick it up and take me to the hospital to have it done, he is fuming.
But I said no need to get it today, because I have had breakfast I will fast tonight and we will pick it up in the morning then go straight to the hospital.

TTFTM I hope the pre-op goes ok x

Islandmaid, jools, LW, Molly (((((Hugs))))) and anyone else who needs one too x

Bitsy, hold off on a price change, because buyers will always push you down. We haven't had the weather for viewings so I would hold off until March and then get another EA or consider doing it yourself. We sold our house privately and it was so easy and saved us thousands, so have a look here

Bitsy, folk will only just be starting to look again now as Miffy said.

Could your EA not refresh your listing & details, maybe put a different photo in the window / first on Rightmove so it looks like a new listing?

After all, they get paid if they "sell" it, so I've always made them earn their dosh when I've been selling homes!

I thought the same so rang the EA yesterday to see how the market was fairing generally. They've had their busiest January ever and even had some sales. So I can't really blame it on things being quiet. Never expected to get the asking price but clearly it was putting people off so lets see if this change will stir up sme viewings.

And crap morning continues as Luna decided to bolt from a green space where we walk and over the road. She was nearly hit by a lovely council worker who despite having a clear and open view of where she was headed, followed by me shouting my head off barely slowed down  I know ultimately it's my fault as she took off but jeez does he brake for humans?!

Tru lovely items, especially the scarf and owl :)

Judi hugs for you, assume H jacking in his job was done without your blessing? Xxxx

Jools oooh love Florida, can I carry their bags ;)

BB TBH I think it was at ceiling limit for our type of house and I always expected to be negotiating. Me and H have a lowest limit we are prepared to accept and we won't go lower than that. Besides wherever we buy I shall be negotiating down too so it's swings and roundabouts.

First i knew about it was last night when he phoned to say that he was being moved to London city centre next week. 'Its not going to happen' he told them. 'I'll finish Friday'.

    :hello::hello::hello: Hi nmlc..I'm here.

My second day on my own and I'm loving it. I have visions of becoming a hermit because yesterday I didn't set foot outside the house and I got so much done. I felt really relaxed by the evening.

On to today. Was woken by the phone, thought it was the Rev and screeched a very rude comment. It wasn't her, it was someone wanting her to take a meeting. Ooops! It's a fast day today so no time spent in the kitchen. Dangerous places, kitchens, when you are trying not to eat.

Having excelled on the housework front for a few days, today is a writing day. I've been asked to take a service on Sunday at my little village church because there are no clergy available. I've done bits of services before but never a whole one and I'm getting a bit nervous. I'm intending to make it very different from the usual morning service so that will involve writing it from scratch. Why do I get myself into these situations? she wails.

I think a cup of black coffee is called for before I start.
You may see me again today. It all depends on how desperate I get.

Bitsy: Commiserations. Buying and selling houses is not a bundle of fun, is it? Hold your nerve.

    Hi everyone

I've been out to have my hair cut, and called in to the shopping centre on the way back to the opticians to pick up my new glasses. I'm wearing them, typing this on my mini iPad, and can see everything on the small screen, so they must be working.

For the rest of the day there's a bit of ironing, and then some more decluttering.

I think it was Wuvvies who mentioned sausage casserole yesterday, but she didn't like it. Well, that reminded me that I do like it, so we'll have that for dinner tonight.

Jools, jealous of your DD. We went to Florida a couple of times in the 90's and it was brilliant. Used to love the theme parks!

Best wishes to all those feeling under the weather right now, hope things get better soon
