O/S Daily Tuesday 29th January 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Good Morning everyone ,awake at silly o'clock this morning, the rain is coming down again, and its as black as Newgate's Knocker outside.Joints tend to play me up a bit when the weather is bad and I creak like an unoiled gate ,oh the joys of growing old
:)
DGS Danny texed me last night and said his veggie curry was delicious at work yesterday and today he is taking a portion of his Chilli in for lunch. He is so pleased with his efforts last saturday at my house I think he will want to come again this Saturday to make something else.
I'm round at youngest DD Tessa's house today as the builder is installing her new sink ,so I shall take my knitting and be on stand-by for tea making duties.Keith (the builder ) is a smashing chap and I know will do a good job ,but Tessa has two dogs which I will keep out of his way. They are good dogs but her kitchen is so small he will need every bit of room to work in and the mutts are nosy little perishers:)
I dug out my bit of rib eye steak from the freezer last night and as I thought it will do me for two days at least as it was a good sized bit (reduced in price as well ) so tonight and tomorrow I shall be feasting like a queen on steak (mid week as well) I may even find a small bottle of wine to go with it from the cupboard I know how to live:)
I hope everyone is fine and keeping wrapped up as its still January but spring is on its way hopefully
Take care everyone

Morning :hello:
I got lost under a mountain of woolI crocheted an owl, it's very cute. I want to make more but can't, I used a pattern but went wrong somewhere and can't work out exactly what I did :rotfl: Have also made a big bag/basket for my supplies. Oooh and the thing I'm most proud of – a little heart, I invented the pattern myself
OK I admit, I started with a proper pattern but started altering it to get the exact shape I wanted
We went to my cousin's baby's 1st birthday party on saturday, had a fab time. Once the littlies had left, it turned to grown-up's time. Must've been good because sunday's suffering was awful :rotfl:
The washing machine has completely died so I've ordered a new one, it does a 15 minute wash. Can't imagine that getting clothes clean, I'll give it a go and report back. I'll strip the old machine and use the drum as a BBQ, we did that with the last one a few years ago and it's still going strong.Bulletproof0 -
Morning everyone.
My usual hour of peace before the kids wake didnt happen today and they've been up as long as me. So cue lots of bickering and telling tales and general bad behaviour  fantastic start to the day considering I had cramp in calf last night which was agony so I am tired with broken sleep.
Not sure what's for tea yet, supposed to be chicken curry but had chicken last night with paella rice.
No other plans except relentless cleaning and tidying trying to keep house show home perfect. Have decided to drop the house price to try and gather some more interest as we've had no viewings since Decembertotally fed up of it all TBH.
Hugs and spoons all round.
Tru pics needed of your creationsI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning everyone
Anyone heard from Monnogran?
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Now getting light here this morning, snow gone replaced by wet and blustery!
Work was busy so it appears we're back to manic Mondays for a while!
Dinner last night was a made-up recipe, did stop of at SM yesterday morning and buy a packet of risotto rice and parmesan - so last night I made bacon, s/sausage and mushroom risotto - was nice and flavour was good but just needed more "meat" (DH's comments, as if you couldn't guess!) but only put in 3 LO slim frankfurter sausages and some rashers of bacon, they needed using up and I had more but didn't want to use them! Certainly will be be another recipe to add to the list - I'm trying to add some new/different recipes as we're in a food rut (again!). Tonight will be pork chops, pots and veg - hairdresser coming to cut menfolks hair.
I like to get to the end of Tuesday as I then only have half a day's work left - have all the normal chores to do and I did look at the flylady's thread and look at what was Mondays list - but that's as far as it got! Will endeavour to try harder!
Keep safe and well x

Here ya go

The bag was too small so I've unravelled it. I haven't taken a pic of the new basket yet, I'll add it today.
ETA I've added the basket and moved the pics into an album called 'crochet', you'll have to click on that on the page, I've edited the link here but it still lands on the 'library' page for some reason.Bulletproof0 -

Bitsy, folk will only just be starting to look again now as Miffy said.
Could your EA not refresh your listing & details, maybe put a different photo in the window / first on Rightmove so it looks like a new listing?
After all, they get paid if they "sell" it, so I've always made them earn their dosh when I've been selling homes!0 -
look at me posting so early!!
morning all
busy day ahead at work today - roast dinner day. lots of children off sick with flu like symptoms.
got up early to take dd to the bus and was just putting my shoes on and her friends mum knocked on the door asking if she wanted a lift so big result for me..and was all ready as well so that got me ahead.
house all tidy. been doing flylady for a few months now so that keeps me organised. last nights dinner was delish - did roasted veg with sausages and a red wine gravy.
tonight its just 3 of us so im going to do chicken nuggets and chips for them and im going to have a mush rissotto.
went to bed last night at 9pm and read my book and was lying down by 930. it was bliss. felt so good when i woke up. i always have problems getting up and today it was easy.
hugs and thoughts to those having a hard time today and lets hope that the headaches/illnesses are better.
have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all,
wet and miserable here, good job the washing baskets are nearly empty. Taking dd for her typhiod jab this morning, then will drop her at work, I need to come home and do my office work for a few hours, then off to see dad.
Some thing with chicken for dinner, maybe a chinese type thing, and I am goinf to make a chicken casserole for dinner tomorrow, I bought a whole chicken and will joint it, cheaper this way.
This afternoon I need to hoover / tidy round, and get the dog out for her walk.
Have good days all xx0 -
Just a quick Hello before making breakfast for DD and DH and then driving for DD's hospital appointment in York.
DH will drop us off and then go home and I intend to treat us to a nice lunch to cheer her up.
Managed to do some shopping yesterday and puzzled that the price for lots of fruit, veg, milk and eggs was so high (although better than local supermarket - then realised DH had added stuff like mulled wine, dates, posh figs etc to the trolley
Checked local SM later for any good bargains (yellow stickered) that could be frozen. I used to get really good bargains on meat, fish etc that could be shoved straight in freezer. Only things on reduced shelf were ready meal type things so did not buy any. Glad I make food from scratch as much as I can as prices are getting horrendous, even cheap cuts of meat are not cheap any more.
Bitsy
I think any change to price means the house looks as if it has just been added to rightmove, even it is only by pounds rather than hundreds or thousands of a change. Good luck .
Hugs to all as need to dash."This site is addictive!"
