holiday in month - NO PASSPORT!!!

I am absolutely stressing out so some help would be great!
my boyfriend planned a surprise holiday for me ( he booked it in November) for the last week of february. I only found out about it tonight and instead of being happy and excited, I am stressing out because I don't have a passport!
He had no idea I don't have one as I lost my previous one and never replaced it.
Does anyone know how long they are taking with normal applications at the moment?
I've had a look and I can only do the week service and not the one day as it is a lost passport. I think I'll have to do the week one just to be sure unless by some miracle people are getting them within a week already! haha
thanks

Quite quick it seems, see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4386741
But not sure if a lost one would take longer?0 -
Two weeks for a normal application at the moment.
Get it done tomorrow."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -

As your passport is lost, you can't use the Premium Service, it will have to be Fast-Track.
If you are doing it on-line, make sure you use the proper website, there are some websites that charge a premium for vetting your application.
That is not needed but some people have been caught out.
The top hit in a Google search may not be the offical website.
I'd get stuck into it straight away, I don't think replacement of lost passports is the same as an ordinary renewal (but I may be wrong).
Good luck.0 -
hi
sent for a renewal for my ds a few weeks ago posted application on friday received passport 6 days later, no fast track or anything; from memory with a lost passport you just tick a different box in section one of the application; just make sure you fill it in correctly and send right ££ and it should be quite straightforward. stop stressing, start filling form in and enjoy your holiday; nice boyfriend btw!!even god cant change the past-no matter how many times i cryfor levi, leo, smudge and arfa:A my angels0 -
It is possible to arrange to go and submit a passport application in person at a passport office and receive the document the same day. A family member has just come back from France for a day and did this successfully. Not sure of costs or how to arrange but you could ring the Passport Advice Line: 0300 222 0000Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0

Damaged passports can't be replaced using the one-day service (I know, as OH was daft enough to leave his in a pocket, and I was daft enough to wash it...). I'm guessing it's the same for lost ones. Seems silly to me, as those are the times when you're likely to need a replacement quickly!! After all, you have 10 years to plan for renewing your passport 'normally'!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
