I don`t have problems with SP regards billing.
I put my readings in every month online and it gives you an instant bill which has never been wrong.
I have been with them about a year on an 18 month contract and I have never been in credit, always owing them a few £ssss.
Even when I owe them about £50 they just leave the DD as it is saying I`m on track for the full year.

I would go as far to say SP is the best power supplier I have ever been with for their billing.

Come June when my contract is up,I`ll be moving to whoever is the cheapest and I doubt it will be SP but you never know.

If they in the future have the best deal I wouldn`t hesitate to go back to them.

I can only post as I find.
  • I had nothing but problems with them and left in 2014. They are currently chasing me for a bill which relates to 2016 and for a different address (same road). It has taken three phone calls so far to try to get them to stop sending me emails and texts. Terrible company.

If you've never, in 25 years, changed from Spanish Power to a different supplier, then you've never enjoyed the delights of its billing system, threatening letters and debt collectors. You've missed so-ooo much, haven't you? :)
Yes. 1999 after three years at university and getting three months behind with the mortgage with arrangement, £300 behind to SP. Not once did the send a threatening letter. Nor a debt collector!

    So there!

My contract isn`t up with SP until the end of June.

I wouldn`t be switching with Uswitch as I`m already with SP.

Funny that tariff is not on SP own site.

You can switch through that website and stay with SP. It is just another of their tariff's that you can't get on SP website direct. And as you are staying with them you don't pay exit fee's. If the unit and SC are cheaper than your's at the moment i would go for it. I did through MSE this week.

Thanks for that but the tariff is not cheaper than my current one.

Been with them since 2011. Never had any problems. They also tell me if there is a better deal. You don’t have to hang on the phone for them to answer. There is a callback service. Someone said about being charged, their free phone number is clearly displayed on the website so don’t know why there is a charge. Mentioned to them about Martin Lewis’ moneysavingexpert stating a deal which is not on their website. They knew about it and just said that I could change my tariff that way and not incur any exit fees and get cashback. Can’t complain as this month has been the most I have paid as it has been cold. SP has not put up my d/d, once upon a time they would increase the d/d for no reason so they have improved lots. Good company.

Reason they might not be with Uswitch - might be because they take quite a piece of commsion from companies, try Energy Helpline it has all the suppliers not just the one who want to give Uswitch there money.

As for changing suppliers well wish I hadn't - First Utility taking payment as usual even though we switched and they had last reading and acknowledged that we have left them - clearly not always as smooth as it is said to be.

Nice to see some people are satisfied with there supplier

I`ve renewed my contract with SP until the end of April next year.

I`ve always been happy with SP and they have the best billing system of all the suppliers I`ve been with over the years.

You put your readings in and get an instant update and the complete bill is visible as a PFD next day.
