Co-operative Energy reviews: Give your feedback

Just saw this thread, thought I'd add my 2p's worth to say that overall the Co-Op have been ok during the two years I've been with them.
Then I saw the post that says their online account management system is unavailable till 11 March. What a load of crap - that's no way to run a website!
Not today I'm afraid. Just been changed to "Try again tomorrow"
It seems that their Customer Service and IT Departments are becoming about as much use as mudguards on a tortoise"It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

When I first read that they were to update their computer system I had to smile and wondered what new problems this would create.
Now we know first info said updating over weekend 4 March and then changed to 11 March and to-day try to-morrow, we all suspect to- morrow never comes!!
We were also promised new account numbers would be sent out, this has not been done yet, any one like to take a bet as to the problems which will happen when(if) the new system gets going and we try to re- register?
Their customer services have been "off air"" for at least a week now, I fear the coop energy is likely to go the way of the old coop food stores.
If the tariff I am on was without exit penalties I would seriously think about changing.0 -
Trying to log into my new account manage to get new account no. and password tried input new info ,only to be told" you are using unsupported browser only use IE 7 and above or etc----"
Wrong I am using IE 11, Tried to use google chrome and firefox no joy.
Which idiots designed the new registration system? A student on work experience could do better! Tried to telephone but of course long wait high volumes of calls I'm not surprised!
I will leave it for a few days see if they sought it out.
Joke of the month their quote "We're aiming to be Britains most trusted energy provider" I think they have a long way to go.0 -
Having been with cooperative energy since they started I am not very impressed at the moment – their new IT system is a complete mess and obviously has not been implemented and tested properly.
I eventually managed to activate my new account details by restarting my Firefox browser with add-ons disabled – not something, I do lightly due to security implications.
Once in, the first thing that struck me was the awful use of colour – white on purple, very difficult to read, not nice at all.
As I normally submit meter readings every week and have not be able to so whilst this so called upgrade has been going on, I then tried to find where these could be input, but could not find anywhere on this new system where to do this.
So next step was to give them a ring – straight to music, no options and cut off after 33mins
I will try again in the next couple of days to see if they have sorted this mess out, if not I will seriously consider switching.0 -
These reports all seem a bit worrying. I haven't tried to log in since this latest online "upgrade" and I think I might just leave well alone until I next want to submit my meter readings next month. This presupposes they don't give me any cause for a formal complaint before then.

Started switch to the Coop in early January through the energy club and received confirmation switch would take place around the 16th Feb. Have sent meter readings to Coop via phone after 20 minute wait to get connected and got final bill from Npower but not a word from the Coop.
Coop site and phones were down for days for “updating” so I could not contact them, today they are up and running after a fashion. I cannot register on their site and after another 20 minute wait on the phone was told that only Google chrome works with their system but they are working on it, no other information could be given on the phone. Google does not work with their system or least I was unable to move forward with it. This is an appalling company who unfortunately I am stuck with for 12 months, please proceed with extreme caution.

I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Are they collecting your DDs and for the correct amount? If so, you aren't getting into arrears and it is to be hoped their site will be running a bit more smoothly later in the month.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I've been with coop energy now for 12 months and i've not once managed to speak to customer services. I've noted down the call lengths and over 14 attempts (including as i type this - 28 minutes) i've hung on a minimum of 31 minutes without speaking to someone. the only dept. i've managed to speak to was the meter readings line who can't transfer calls, so you have to hang up, call back and get back in queue.
the longest my patience has held out was 45 minutes and the phone went down.
i went to coop because they were the best value at the time and primarily because they're a cooperative but i'm going to be initiating a switch this weekend to a company with shareholders because they tend to answer their phones and let you log in online, neither of which the coop are doing at the moment.helpful tips
