I too think that 2 is a little young and the weather is a little cold for potty training.
Have you considered that he may have a water infection? My lo 2.5 has been asking for a nappy change and crying everytime she wees and wanting her nappy changed straight away so i suspect she has a water infection and it is burning her skin (she is a little red) so off to the docs for her not sure how i', supposed to get a sample though?

Oooh there have been a few flounces and strops. I think it is typical of any group of hormpne riddled females.
put a wad of cotton wool in the nappy and wring it out into to pee pot.
