Hi
I disconnected from Virgin media broadband about 6 months ago, and have tried sky broadband.
I have decided I need the speed from Virgin and would like to return to them...I still have the Virgin Hub here and all cabling
Would they be able to switch me on again straight away
Darren

Yes, they should do. Depends on Engineer appointments.
You'll still be tied in to Sky for the minimum term. If you want to leave Sky you'll have to pay the remainder of your contract. Or keep paying them for 6 months and cancel at the end of your fixed term.0 -
Should the Hub not have been returned to VM when you left them?
As above, you'll be hit with an ETC for both the line rental and broadband service from Sky.No free lunch, and no free laptop

the Hub is still here...No one has been to collect it.
Why would i need a engineer to visit me ?
Surely all the equipment is here already ?

An engineer is required to connect you up at cabinet and exchange.0

ok i thought they would just press a button and it would work again ?

That's an urban myth-it requires a physical reconnection to be done. And the engineer will presumably then check it at the property. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you've only been with Sky for six months you may have an issue unless your BB speed is below what they told you as you'll be under a 12 month contract with them so if you move before the year is up you'll end up paying for both contracts.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
TBH my SKY broadband is awfull
When signed up the email stated i would get between 5 and 14 mbps....So i thought if i get 7 then thats OK.
I get about 3mbps and thats on a good day ( wired connection )
It isnt even enough to stream music via spotify
So going back to virgin would be OK

So what have you done to try and sort out the Sky Broadband? There are a few things you can to to ensure you're getting the best from your connection. You also have to discount any issues you have with your internal wiring.
Loads of info here: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm0 -
I have phoned them loads of times and also gone through various options with the sky team on twitter.
No one really seems interested much....turn PC off and n again and also check wires etc....beyond that its a joke0
